Anyone heard back from Columbia yet? And when did you get verified?

I was accepted yesterday (2/6) via email. I think they roll out offers until March.

Congratulations to people who've been accepted!

I love seeing people who are passionate about public health out there with goals to change the world. :D

If other people have heard from programs I applied for ( UNC health management and policy) and( GWU health policy) does that mean that I didn't get in?

How many times a day is too many to check the Emory portal for my admissions decision? I feel like I'm crazy.

If I got waitlisted for Emory do I have a chance at getting into UNC or GWU ? .....any input would be appreciated.. Just sick of not knowing!

Anyone apply to Berkeley or Columbia?

Hi! I've applied to Berkeley. Have you heard anything from it?

YALL I AM FREAKING OUT, HENCE WHY I AM POSTING IN THIS FORUM.

You all are so far ahead of me...long story short, I got accept to Tulane's MSW program and then decided I wanted to do their joint MSW/MPH so I just submitted my SOPHAS application TONIGHT and I am super nervous because hello it is February. Their admissions are rolling, but do you think applying this late will hurt me?? I know that's the whole point of being rolling but I am NOT a last minute girl, I am an apply in October girl...what if it is too late. SOMEONE GIVE ME WORDS OF WISDOM PLEASE

If you have a decidedly strong application, it doesn't matter so much when you apply. If it could go either way, there's an advantage to applying earlier. But, I'm sure if you're already in the MSW program your application is pretty strong, and I know Tulane is quick about getting back with people. I wouldn't worry. You got your application in and that's what matters.

Hi Everyone-

I wanted to get an idea of University of Michigan's app timeline. Has anyone heard back from them (positve or negative)? I applied to their Health Behavior Health Education program in mid-December, and have heard nothing more than the "your application is complete" e-mail. How to desperate is too desperate to ask about my application status? I've heard positive news from a few other schools, but U of M is my top choice. Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks!

Okay, so I requested my transcripts be sent to SOPHAS about 10 days ago, and the website is still saying no transcripts have been received...does anyone know about how long that process usually takes just for transcripts to be received and accepted? Thanks!

The timeline depends on the school- my transcripts were received and posted by SOPHAS within about 10 days of me requesting them.  If your school acknowledges mailing them and SOPHAS hasn't received them by about 2 weeks or so I'd make a few phone calls.

Okay, I realize I am 538943 weeks behind but HELP!

My transcripts were FINALLY received by SOPHAS today and my status has changed to "complete". What happens now? Do I need to do anything else/does the school finally get the application?

Your application won't be fully complete until it changes to 'Verified.' That will happen after SOPHAS verifies your transcripts - probably a couple weeks.

You completed the coursework section where you have to enter all your courses and grades manually, right? That is what they will be checking against the transcript now that they have it.

So here's my deal.

I've only applied to one program, Davis (this may sound ridiculous, and it is, but I'm limited by one program - husband won't consider moving anywhere else, and I have three year old twins - so Davis is/was my only choice.) I'm a perm resident in the U.S., but my undergrad and grad degree are from the U.K. I took courses at community college to bone up on math and a bio course (3.79) GPA. Also have 4.0 from state university in grad certificate. GRE quant score 60th percentile, verb 84th, analytical writing was 80th. All of these scores are well within their 'average' ranges, and for verbal its way above.

I have 9 months experience volunteering for health departments in HIV surveillance, and another 6 month internship with a local student coalition working on tobacco control. I also worked as aboard member for non profit working on micro finance programs for Dalit women in Nepal, included sanitation programs and health education for women. Have worked voluntarily doing research for academics, but have never managed to find paid work related to public health.

I applied a little late, because of the GRE, and some misinformation from the program, however, the director of the program said that if I applied by Feb 13th, that I was guaranteed to get reviewed.

Have any of you applied to Davis? If so, did you get in? Anyone with any ideas about this program would be much appreciated. Obviously with this being the only program I've applied to, I'm nail biting and driving myself crazy!

I'm trying to be calm, but I can't stop checking the website! :/

Well, no need to worry as I just got my acceptance letter from Davis. To say I'm thrilled is an understatement! This is quite amazing considering I only applied three weeks ago, and the actual completed file was only submitted two weeks ago!! No more waiting!! Hurrah!!

I had to say congrats!  I had just read your previous post and REALLY empathized you and was just about to post a "hang in there, your application sounds VERY solid" when I saw your acceptance!  :)

It depends on how many applicants are waiting on verification. When I submitted back in November, it took about 10 days for SOPHAS to verify. This late in the cycle, I can't imagine it would take more than a week for you to get verified.
