I/O Applicants 2010!

Great to see some conversation for this year!

I've slightly changed my original list of PhD programs. Looks like I'm going for University of Maryland, University of Akron, University of South Florida, UIUC, Georgia Tech, Teachers College at Columbia, George Mason University, George Washington University, DePaul University, and University of Houston. Whew!

I originally had a little trepidation about GT because I never really considered myself a "Technical Institute" kind of gal. I go to Emory so GT is our neighbor and I've always gotten an engineery vibe, but I clearly shouldn't have been scared off from the I/O program itself. Does that make any sense?

I'm officially asking for recommendations this week, which means this is really happening...

It would really surprise me if anyone had-- last year they called with acceptances the second week of February.

So I recently received a letter from portland state university asking me for proof that I got my mmr vaccine. I logged onto my account and it says my application is incomplete. Missing mmr vaccine form and a "grad dept accept ltr"... Anyone know what this means? Anyone have the same experience? I applied for the I/o phd.

Hi there,

I also applied for that program and received a letter in the mail with the immunization form (bright pink form). Not sure why they need immunization info at this point....? I do not know what "grad dept accept ltr" means. I will check my app status now, as I havent done that yet.

I called Portland and asked what it meant. They couldn't give me a direct answer. The person on the other end sorta stumbled with his answer saying that it wasn't a form I needed to send to them (duh) but that they are waiting to hear from the grad dept. so i think you are right.

Also, I just got an email from them thanking me for my app. and saying that the selection committe has begun reviewing apps and will mail me a decision no later than april 15th....

Guess i'll have to wait and see...

I must admit that I'm on this website way more than I should be, constantly checking the social psych thread as I am waiting for an answer from social psych programs, BUT, I'm an I/O applicant as well, and noticed that our thread has quieted down recently, so I thought I would try to liven it back up!

Sooooo...

How are you guys feeling about the app process? ( I submitted my last app last week and have my phone glued to my hand constantly checking emails)

I have scouring this website for the son-in-law, as he is too busy to do so himself. But, great news today he was accepted by Texas A&M with invite to the recruitment weekend in March. So, one down, more acceptances to come.

I applied to both I/O and Organizational Behavior programs, and have just received my first rejection email from UNC's Org Behavior program. 70 applicants for 1 spot...ouch.

One down, 11 to go!
