Yeah that's what I was thinking, there's a chance they could do it in waves between now and the 4th. Although realistically, and taking into account the prediction, it'll probably be around end of Feb anyway!
LLeuven Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 I don't know if anyone else here applied to USF, but I contacted them just to make sure all of my materials were in order and was told they will make their decisions around the third week of February.
philstudent1991 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 I hope tomorrow is just wild. Berkeley, UNC, Chicago, UCI, Vandy and WashU. philosophe, AnotherKantFan, Siegfried42 and 3 others 6
jacbarcan Posted February 4, 2016 Author Posted February 4, 2016 Me too. I'm still feeling like Berkeley will have to be today, tomorrow, or Saturday. philstudent1991 and philosophe 2
dgswaim Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Why can't like, all of them just post results like, now? Right now. This very instant. Don't they understand that our generation has problems with delayed gratification? AnotherKantFan, Ulixes, bechkafish and 5 others 8

philosophe Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Jac -- any particular reason you predicted Arizona for Saturday (as opposed to today?)
jacbarcan Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 Yeah actually. The average of the past four years is 5.75 and they've released on one friday and two saturdays of the four. So, I rounded to Feb 6 instead of Feb 5. philstudent1991 and philosophe 2
majorshake Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Is it likely offer would come out on a Saturday for U.Chicago? Or am I sentenced to waiting until Monday (Tuesday my time, even..)

I figure the reason is because they haven't awarded fellowships yet and that (I'm guessing) is typically done on a weekday. You might even expect it a day after. So, around Tuesday (or Wednesday your time?). They almost always respond on a Friday (4-year data) but last year did a Tuesday (only day other than Fri in last 4 years). Best of luck. majorshake 1

currentphilgrad Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I hate to ask you to elaborate on a prediction since you've already done so much work but...Any further predictions on WashU? They were predicted to come out on Friday, so I was just wondering do they tend to release on Fridays (so I shouldn't expect anything until late next week) or is Monday a possibility? Thanks again for all your hard work! 502845824 1

Thanks again for all your hard work! No worries at all. It helps me stay busy while still obsessing. WashU typically releases on a Friday (three of four), but has released on a Wednesday. I would guess MW or F next week or M or W the week after. They're slightly unpredictable. Past has been 2/15/12, 2/8/13, 2/7/14, and 1/23/15. It can be hard to tell with such little data whether or not something is an outlier, a trend change, or an indication of irregularity. The next prediction would be an average of the first three, which is next Wednesday 2/10.
dgswaim Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Really hoping to see some news out of Wisconsin and Minnesota this coming week (Wisconsin, especially). philstudent1991 1
machineghost Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I am curious as to why there aren't any predictions for Florida State. Anyone have any idea as to when they typically announce? I realize that one person claimed an acceptance but I got the impression that they were nominated for something special and that there was no sign that they were done admitting folks. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
jacbarcan Posted February 8, 2016 Author Posted February 8, 2016 No real reason why we don't do predictions for certain schools. Usually, we'll do them on request and just continue to make the list longer. machineghost 1

I don't know if they're running a waitlist, how long it is, or when they might notify people who are on it.

It really is bizarre how schools don't notify folks who get rejected.

SamStone Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 So, UC-Riverside's predicted release date is tomorrow. Who else has been anxiously looking forward to hearing back from them? (They are one of my top choices.) Think they'll actually send out some announcements tomorrow? This week at least?
jacbarcan Posted February 8, 2016 Author Posted February 8, 2016 Riverside is one of the most unpredictable ones. They've come out mid-Jan, early-feb, mid-feb, and late-feb. SamStone 1

I am also anxiously awaiting their decision. I'd be excited about that one and, importantly, so would my wife, who would not be particularly excited about some other schools to which I applied. Fortunately for her, I didn't get in to any of those schools (OR AT LEAST THAT IS WHAT I AM ASSUMIMG GIVEN THAT I HAVE NOT BEEN TOLD!) SamStone 1
