cherry12055
Has anyone heard from Tulane? I saw that someone posted on the gradcafe results but it wasn't specified if it was for the school or social program. Thanks!
fritolay
Hi everyone  I have applied to a mixture of clinical and school psych programs. So far I have interviews with UCSB (school track) and Yeshiva (School-Clinical Child). I hope to hear back from more. If anyone has any valuable information about these programs, please share. Thanks!
AuntieGrandma
PhD Interviews scheduled for UC Berkeley, Univ of Arizona, UC Santa Barbara and Univ of Oregon. Still waiting to hear from Univ of No Colorado and Univ of Washington. Assuming no interview invite from UT-Austin. Hopefully, I won't need my 3 back-up Master program schools. Any input, advice?? Thanks and good luck!
Necrovex
Seems like I was given interviews for my three preferred schools for my EdS programs. Quite anxious to knock these out so I can figure out my future plans once I get back states side. Hope the holidays didn't make anyone too impatient during this fun application process! maester
Good luck to everyone waiting on school responses or interviews!! Officially applying to UDel (top choice!), Lehigh, Towson, James Madison, Uni of Rhode Island (PhD), Albany, and one or two with later deadlines that I have on the fence if I get antsy. How are you all dealing with this stress? I've been an anxious wreck the past few days and am having a hard time with the idea of not getting into the schools I want or only getting in somewhere I can't afford. Would love any tips you guys have or that you've been using, haha!
maester
Hope you're all doing okay with this! I just received an interview request from Lehigh the other day, so I had a few questions about that process: 1. How long after an interview does it typically take to hear back from a school? 2. I'll need to spend the night with a student, which they offered, and was curious if anyone has had an experience doing that? What was it like and did you feel like it was an important aspect of your trip?

Hi, I heard back from Lehigh within a week and a half last year. Staying with students is very informative and a good way to bond with a current student. I felt as though I really understood what it was like to be a student at the schools that I stayed with students. It is a great way to get the overall student experience. Good luck with everything! Has anybody else applied to these schools this round? I looked at the past discussions but there wasn't much talk about schools in Texas so I was curious if anyone had more information. My GPA is a 3.66, GRE V: 161, Q: 154, W: 4. I have experience working as an RA in a lab that is somewhat related to school psych and worked at a summer camp for 3 years. If anyone has constructive criticism or advice, I'd love to hear it.  Hey I applied to some of the same programs you did  I'm pretty positive you will get into Texas State's program! I looked on the NASP admissions data for Texas State and their acceptance rate is pretty high. And you exceed their requirements by a lot  Edited January 17, 2017 by ECastanon

Medule
UNC Chapel Hill's application deadline is April 11th this year, which is SUPER late, but in case people are worried they missed out on applications etc, there is that option as well! cherry12055
Hi everyone! Hope your interviews are going well. I was hoping some current students might be able to help me understand something. I am interested in completing an APA predoctoral internship in a non-school setting but still receiving my NCSP credential. I know you need at least 600 hours in a school setting to be eligible to be certified. Some of my schools have said that I can count my hours I receive during practicum (so years 1-4) towards those 600 hours so that when I go for internship, I can complete one entirely in a non-school setting (such as a juvenile detention center or hospital). Other schools have told me that I absolutely must have 600 hours during my internship in a school setting in order to be eligible to be certified by NCSP and that anything before internship year doesn't count. Does anyone know what's going on/why I'm receiving such conflicting information? Thank you!

Does anyone know what's going on/why I'm receiving such conflicting information? Thank you! 2  Because that's what NASP says: https://www.nasponline.org/standards-and-certification/national-certification/ncsp-eligibility You should note that NASP is an organization primarily for specialist-level programs and the information from the link above applies to specialist-level programs only. That's why the term "practicum" is used to refer to the hours they do in their 2nd year while "internship" in their 3rd year. It's different for doctoral-level programs. We typically complete the 600 hours required by NASP in our 3rd or 4th year doing advanced practicum/field-based experience/advanced fieldwork/whatever the school chooses to call it. You can refer to P.7-8 of the following document: https://www.nasponline.org/Documents/Standards and Certification/Standards/2_Credentialing_Standards.pdf I haven't heard a problem like this in my program so I just assumed that is the case for all doctoral programs, especially those that encourage you to do an APA-accredited internship. But I'll certainly confirm with those schools who said your internship must include 600 hours in a school setting and ask what their students/graduates typically do as program requirements vary from program to program. AuntieGrandma
I've been waitlisted at one of my top choices of PhD programs. They claim it is a very small list and that they anticipate they will still be admitting students off this list. Does anyone have any experience with being waitlisted? How about advice about following up and appropriate questions regarding status and location on the waitlist? fritolay
