Psychology on Results page

Is anyone else incredibly annoyed when people post on the results page without stating their subfield, e.g., Clinical, Health, I/O...?

Sorry, I've done that a few times! I've heard about interviews at Cornell, JHU, and Duke and I applied to Developmental Psych. Didn't bother listing the subfield because I assumed all the non-clinical people were lumped together anyway (although I don't know if that's true).

You just made a good friend of mine very happy--she applied to Cornell's Social and was worried about the Cornell post :)

I know Clinical is almost always separate, but I've also heard that faculty contacts are generally by subfield, then they make their recommendations to the whole department.

I applied to Cornell Social--what was your sub field? Should I be worried?

I applied to CPD at Cornell (Cognition, Development, & Perception) so we're not in the same subfield. Not sure how they sent out invites though - I just got mine from an email from my POI. We'd been writing short emails back and forth for a little while and he'd hinted at it before (asking where I lived, etc). The official email was also from a CPD prof.

My advisor's roommate from grad school is on the adcomm for UCLA's program and they called/emailed people for recruitment last week. Sorry if that's bad news for you.

Is this for a particular subfield? Because I just got a call for an invite for the Dev. weekend :)

I'm not sure, I know she's social (stereotype research), so maybe for everyone?

I got a call from a professor yesterday saying that behavioral neuroscience will be finalizing decisions soon, so it might not apply to all divisions.

I would be U, not I :P I see you're not hearing anything either. Maybe they let people in other countries know first so they can prepare for the trip? Yeah, wild theory, I know :D

Haha! Definitely a wild theory, though I'm not ashamed to admit that the same thought crossed my mind as well!
