CrimsonBlue Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 In at UVA! (American Politics) I'm thrilled. CONGRATS!!!!
NEPA Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Congrats to everyone who's been accepted recently and my condolences to all those who got rejection letters right before the weekend. As for me, I've heard absolutely zero from any of my schools so far. Grr! I think next week will be the real excitement for me, especially if BC keeps to the week-to-ten-day time frame they gave me a few days ago and if Rutgers notifies around the same time as last year.
FrostedAmbassador Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 In at UVA! (American Politics) I'm thrilled. Congrats! Now that you are actually in, I can say that I think you'll have a very good time working with Winter, Freedman, et al. (Claibourn and Sanders also do public opinion, although I'm not sure how quantitative their research is).
hooperhayley Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 rejected by yale! Go me! I'm off to go and be happy about Michigan!! congrats to anyone who got in :-)
CrimsonBlue Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 rejected by yale! Go me! I'm off to go and be happy about Michigan!! congrats to anyone who got in :-) Not to mention it's a better program if you are doing AP or IR. hooperhayley 1
hooperhayley Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 anyone got any buzz about when Harvard or Princeton will be out?
durbin_bourban Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 got rejected from Yale. It hurt. Have folks really started hearing from Berkeley? I haven't heard anything...don't know what that means.
CrimsonBlue Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 got rejected from Yale. It hurt. Have folks really started hearing from Berkeley? I haven't heard anything...don't know what that means. Several friends of mine heard from Berkeley for CP, AP and IR. They all got in on Tuesday, I believe. I think the flow of acceptances is done, although I may be wrong. card28 1
tskinner Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Also rejected by Yale ::shrug:: To the UCSD funding waiters, I got an e-mail from Ms. Evangelista and she slipped in this little comment: We were even more selective in our decisions this year and as a result admitted fewer students I am hoping they did this so that our funding can remain fairly stable! I'm itching to hear from them so I can see whether or not I can afford to live off campus. card28 1

bassdude Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Also out at Yale, but was expected Does anyone know if Michigan is done giving out acceptances? I know some have been claimed on here, but I have not been able to get any word one way or the other from the department.
SuddenlyParanoid Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 How are people checking their Yale status? Mine still just says application submitted on the ApplyYourself page. trollin' 1
bacata55 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Do you know how long can be a waiting list?? Is it really an ordered set or just a pool to select additional candidates. I was waitlisted at Pittsburgh.
Rory Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 How are people checking their Yale status? Mine still just says application submitted on the ApplyYourself page. At the very bottom of the page it should say Decision Status, and have a link. If not, perhaps you are one of the lucky ones who will be getting an acceptance???
SBL Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 How are people checking their Yale status? Mine still just says application submitted on the ApplyYourself page. It should just be at the bottom of the page when you log in - below your application check list. Maybe the link is broken to the admit letters

BayesLives Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 How are people checking their Yale status? Mine still just says application submitted on the ApplyYourself page. I'm also not seeing anything...weird. Checked on a Mac and a PC.
CrimsonBlue Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Here are the lucky ones who might have a chance at Yale!
natofone Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 How are people checking their Yale status? Mine still just says application submitted on the ApplyYourself page. That sounds very promising...I don't want to jinx you, but last year everyone in your category was later accepted.
readeatsleep Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 another Chicago admission... did you get admitted? What's your subfield?
brouhaha Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Eesh, lots of brutality today. Still nothing from Yale for me but I'm in the hands of the East Asian Studies department now. I have no idea when they'll be notifying. Any news from your side, cpaige?
serotonin_addict Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 did you get admitted? What's your subfield? No, just saw in on the result page
SBL Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 No, just saw in on the result page Could be an earlier admit who only just got round to checking their email. A Stanford one up there too.
It'sgonnabeme Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 (edited) How are people checking their Yale status? Mine still just says application submitted on the ApplyYourself page. Oh my dear SP, I hope you'll break into Yale and maintain your unbelievable record. On an unrelated note, not that I'm bitter or whatever, but what is up with Northwestern's selectivity? I saw many people who got in (or at least waitlisted by) clearly more highly ranked programs like NYU, UCSD, Wisconsin-Madison, OSU, Chicago were rejected by Northwestern. Well, maybe I'm just plain wrong. End vent. Edited February 12, 2010 by It'sgonnabeme serotonin_addict, ladedodaday and It'sgonnabeme 2 1
