does anyone have any more info to share about the updates? just as someone that interviewed and has been obsessively checking their email since you posted but hasn't heard anything yet

They're informing the finalists and asking for availability. You might get the email tonight, hang in there!

I’ve also been checking like crazy as someone who interviewed. Assuming nothing by now means it’s a no…

Anyone else get an e-mail for an interview for NYU?  I'm confused because I thought they went out already.

According to some posts on filmschool, NYU is one of the few schools where the interview requests do go out in batches -- I saw someone get an interview request as early as last Friday, I got mine on Monday, and now you! It seems to be that different professors are doing different sets of interviews.

Might be a silly question but as someone who has only received one formal rejection (no word from several other programs): why don't they send out rejections once they have selected their finalists/interviews? Is there any point to this limbo?

In my experience, programs don't send rejections until their cohort is fully secured. That way, if all of their finalists somehow all decide not to go, they're able to go back to the "semi-finalist" pile (often which you don't know if you ever are, only two schools I know of tell people) and restart the interview process. They'd rather not reject anyone and then have to reach out and be like... "heyyyyyy jkkkkkkkkk"

Has anyone heard from University of Southern California?

Not yet, but USC sent an email some time ago saying they're behind and hope to make a decision on the first round no later than April 1, so there's still time.

I feel like we'll probably hear next week. But I feel your impatience. USC is the last school I'm waiting on.

I got an offer from Carnegie Mellon.

I'm surprised it came this late but I'm assuming I was a second round choice and that someone rejected their initial offer.

Did anyone else get an update from them?

Congrats! I forget if you mentioned, did you interview with them and then not hear back?

Yes I interviewed with them about a month ago! They gave me until April 4th to make my decision, but I'm leaning more towards Brooklyn College because of $$$ + staying in NYC. Still waiting to hear from NYU/Columbia as well.

That's so exciting! How wonderful to be in a position to choose between two great programs.

Has anyone heard from Hunter? I have seen a few rejections but no acceptances. I don't think I'm getting an acceptance, but would love to know either way. Should I email?
