Steph_slp Posted October 30, 2017 Share Posted October 30, 2017 I'm looking into application deadlines for Florida grad programs in February of 2018, and NOVA popped up (taking the GRE in Dec). The main campus seems to be in Fort Lauderdale, with others in Orlando, Miami, etc. They don't require the GRE according to edfind, but they also receive upwards of 900 applicants each term!! I tried to apply but I didn't have my prereq's completed so they wouldn't even look at my application. I wanted to go there because they are doing some amazing work with AAC. I requested an appointment, and received an email back that the person who would be meeting me was not available. When I replied to reschedule, I got no response back. Bummer! I'm applying to the distance program and wondering if I should even bother based on experiences like this that applicants have discussed. I'm anticipating them discarding my application due to nitpicking my prereqs. @Steph_slp It's definitely a real school haha, I'm originally from South Florida and am familiar with the Davie campus... my family still lives near Ft. If I were you @Rowboat47, I might just fork over some extra cash and meet with a writing specialist to create top notch letters. Even if they’re still nit-picky with the prereqs, those letters will serve you well for other programs anyway. Might as well give it a shot!
