Hey, just decided to start this to check in with everyone who'll be applying to MS or PhD Canada Fall 2018. What schools are you applying to and subfields?

I applied to SFU, UBC and MSc & MScAC in UofT.

The deadline was the 15th of December. I submit it around that time, maybe 2 days earlier.

I have seen a few people getting admits to the University of Toronto CS grad program. They started sending out their results in early February and have also interviewed some people . I haven't heard anything, neither have I had an interview.  So is it safe to say that my application is rejected and the decision is a mere formality now?

News from the department of CS at University of Alberta:

" We had close to 1700 applications this year compared to 1100 last year so this is a timely process for our review committee.
Yes some admissions have been done but there are more to come.
Admission decisions will be from February - April. "

It seems this year is much more competitive than last year... I'm so anxious, probably will be rejected for no paper. Sad...

Very Competitive.

Well, I am a bit relieved as I have missed deadlines :-P  for this university. Among 1700 application,  selection panel must have been going mad  :P

My U of A application has been under review for more than two months now. I can't even care anymore at this point.

By the way, I would love to chat with anyone that got admitted to UWaterloo :)
