fl317
Did you double space your personal statement? And are their any other general formatting rules I need to know? I always thought size 12 times new roman and in the left hand corner put name/address
futureSLPhopefullylol
Unless the school specifies that they want double spacing, I am just single spacing everything. I feel like double spacing makes it look too long and from what I understand, conciseness is key. I had one school (OSU) specify they wanted in double spaced but all other schools don't specify spacing just word or page limits.
Blue J
Double space. I've heard members from the committee state how annoyed they get with having to read personal statements with single spaced font. Apparently, it puts a strain on their eyes. Also, keep in mind that they are reading many essays-- sometimes up to 100+ ( 2 pages each). Imagine what that is like for them.
Blue J
Also you do not need your name and address. All of that should be with your application materials submitted via csdcas or whatever portal the program uses. For peace of mind, you can do the " last name page number" in the upper right hand corner. I've heard of applicants doing that. However, that's not necessary. jpiccolo
Mine were single spaced. More formal. It's not like they're your profs writing notes in between the lines.
