Yeah, I wish they would just put an end to our misery but telling us now...

I got one rejection weeks ago and one acceptance last week (in email, no official letter or funding info yet). I am waiting to hear from my top school, I got rejected last year, I hope they take me this year. The longer it is taking, the more depressed/ worried I become. The anxiety is killing me!

If I have not heard from schools by now does that mean I am rejected, considering April 15 is so close?

Not necessarily, some admissions decisions are still being released (adcoms are currently in session). Others have already sent out offers. So it depends on which school you applied for. Even then, it could be that you are put on an unofficial waitlist.

we're halfway through march, and yet, except for one school, no word from others... i'm starting to get really tempted to email them.

Some schools are nice enough to respond to your emails. Others simply ignore them. :(

I totally agree with you guys...waiting sucks. I haven't been accepted anywhere yet, and it sucks real bad :(

Only good thing I got is 'consideration for a Masters of Engineering program' after I being rejected for the PhD program...they said it might take until end of March for me to find out :( ....all this waiting....my birthday is like a week from now...I'm hoping/praying I get accepted into the M.Eng program before then...it would make a nice happy birthday :)

In UCSC

Really want some resolution on the Boulder front.

Still no news... Knowing that I'm a lot older than the average applicant, waiting a year does not help (since it would make me even older). Besides, I already have 2 masters, so I really can't be applying for an MA/MS in Marketing, can I?

true, but is it possible to find something for a year in your field...an internship...idk...a partnership/volunteer work teaching at a high school/part-time volunteer at a college...idk...anything that could make the app look better

martizzle, been there, done that. Was a teacher before, and worked in marketing for the past 6 years plus in various marketing assignments including product marketing, pricing, business development, technical marketing, services marketing, marketing strategy. Short of trying to volunteer to do free research for the profs, I wonder what else I need to do... sad.gif

Oh march had so much potential and now one more week left. 4 responses from schools last week but nothing this week :(

When April comes I've decided not to wait any longer because it's killing me. Here's to the "April it is" thread for all of us who are still waiting on responses!

Hey guys, do you know if admission officials work on spring break? blink.gif

April 15th is coming, I have to make a decision quickly.

Some do. Mine don't. :(

A friend at my dream school and in the program I hope to be accepted to emailed me last night to ask whether I've been accepted yet. He said that the school opens on Monday and that I should call to ask about the decision. I really want to, but I don't think my heart can take it if it turns out to be a rejection. I imagine it will go something like this:

*ring ring*

Assistant: Hello?

Me: Hi, have decisions been made for applications?

Assistant: Yes, we are preparing to send out decisions this week. Would you like to know of your decision now?

Me: Uhhs...*gulp*...yes?

Assistant: What is your name?

Me: joro

Assistant: Let me go check your application. Well...

Me: *hangs up*

Assistant: Hello? Hello?

Applied (9)

Accepted (0)

Waitlisted (2)

Rejected (4)

Haven't heard (3)

Grrr. HELP.

All I can say is that you are not alone, plus the fact that you know you've been waitlisted for 2. Hang in there!

I totally understand what you mean. The suspense is killing all of us. I sometimes wish that they (adcoms) will tell us our status NOW, and yet I'm not sure if I want to hear it.

Actually, with my current expectations, I don't mind all the rest of my schools just telling me that I'm rejected. I need to reclaim my life back.

The agony is basically over now for me..What a terribly stressful month!

Now the torture of rationalizing spending that much money on the grad school I do want to go to...

That's my nightmare. I sort of wish that schools were forced to honour it if they accidentally extended an offer of admission.

^… Agreed! As long as you can handle working with the boneheads that rejected you for x years. You'd get to prove them wrong!

I guess you can try your best to make a point that they should never have rejected you in the first place, by being the best student they'd ever seen. tongue.gif

All the best, MmphIn! I'm sure you'll have a great time in York!

Ha. March was it!

Now I can call the one place I haven't heard from with a good reason, other than impatience. Here's hoping it goes better than joro's scenario above.

I'm glad that most people got their responses from their schools but I feel like one of the few who are still waiting on 3 schools...

I dread starting the APRIL IT IS thread, someone do it for me, please :)
