I think there are a few options with regard to Duke: 1. that's it, everything has been sent out 2. they're going to send out personal acceptances to the people admitted this year, so they haven't entered them online yet 3. they'll finish in the morning and we'll see some actual acceptances (as opposed to just waitlists) 4. something else I'm leaning toward the first one based on the number of people who have posted on the board (only 3 people posted acceptances last year, and no one posted that they were waitlisted)... but who knows -

I wonder if that's it for Duke? There were only a three acceptances (and no waitlists) posted last year on the board. -

U of Chicago sent out acceptances on the 3rd of Feb. last year. This week is a real possibility. -

I wouldn't worry too much about refreshing it -- if they do update it, I'm sure you'll get an automated email almost immediately. -

It was an email from a professor on the admissions committee. I didn't contact any professors ahead of time (at any of the schools I applied to). @ lisajay: thanks! =D -

My email was sent directly from a professor who tried to call me on Friday (and failed to get a hold of me). I assume that more acceptances are coming. Thanks for all of the kind words. -

That was me. I received an email late last night (apparently they tried to leave a voicemail on Friday... but I never received it). Super excited! -
Program Specific Questions - Fall 2013

That kind of sucks--also, 75% is on the high side for most english applicants on the quant section (especially with the new test). The average score for applicants accepted by Duke is somewhere in the 50s. -

It's on the results board. I think I saw it somewhere else too, prior. I assume it is related to budgetary cutbacks. -

That's great that you were already able to pull admits this time around. -

So true. Even second tier schools can be extremely hard to get into. For example: UC Boulder made 4 initial offers out of an application pool of over a hundred last year. Those are some nasty odds. -

I wouldn't worry that much about test scores. They're far from everything. Writing sample, rec letters, CV, and your SOP are far more important. If you're in doubt, check this out: http://gradschool.duke.edu/about/statistics/admiteng.htm -
