I would however add that in Mexico Austin is much better known due to it's Latin American studies department and plenty of famous alumni (had had at least 2 presidential candidates I can count).

For Americans considering going to SAIS-Bologna - any intel on how to manage the transition from Bologna to summer internships to DC? It seems that the Bologna year ends rather late - the very end of May - so how could we get to DC (or wherever) in time to find adequate housing before starting an internship (which we would have to procure long-distance)? I'm no longer a 19-year-old undergrad, so the idea of moving into some group situation found on craiglist sight-unseen with none of my furniture (which would theoretically be sitting in my parents' basement hundreds of miles away) is very unappealing.

This guy is playing us. I have it on good authority (I reviewed the surveillance tapes) that he's on work release with the janitorial staff at St. Elizabeth's psychiatric hospital in DC. In between his "jello" breaks, he gets on here and sublimates his frustrations. Right, chief?

So did anyone who got funding at GPPI now going to WWS or HKS instead?

LOOOL, when you come from an underdeveloped country and your mother never even attended middle school, and your parents did their best to give you a great education even though your country was undergoing war, it is a great feeling to be accepted in a Program like SAIS!
 
When I applied, I thought the only schools I had a reach at were American University and SUNY-Albany, given the stats of those who were admitted. I ended up getting in GPPI, GW Trachtenberg, American SPA, SUNY- Albany Rockefeller, Carnegie Mellon Heinz College and now SAIS with money from most of them, I think I have good reasons to be excited even though I will unfortunately only attend one But Yayyyyy ))

If GPPI is your top choice, then you have nothing to lose by asking for additional funding.  At the least I would advise waiting 3-4 weeks before making a decision because you might get an increase without even doing anything.

If I am correct in my assumption, both recipients are international, which is why they probably got an e-mail version.

Why don't you call admissions tomorrow instead of just speculating. I know I would. 

It is really really cold! Oh and it has a bad rep among ngo workers and left wing global leaders due to Milton Friedman (who had nothing to do with Harris but you should hear some people).

This thread is more toxic every time I visit it. No one here wants to absorb all this vitriol and internet ego bruising on top of the anxiety of the waiting process. In this thread and others, some of you seem like you have a personal vendetta against anyone who thinks they should go to HKS (with or without funding). Your comments aren't always helpful but they are always condescending. I think about funding constantly, but none of you are saying anything that hasn't already been said in the last week alone. The horse is dead and thoroughly beaten. 

Well this thread had absolutely nothing to do with Princeton WWS.
