  1. I checked my status too after reading your post. Mine says COMPLETE YES (instead of ENOYES). I am sure it didn't say that yesterday when I last checked. I hope that doesn't mean they are only beginning to review the applications now. I applied to the school of sociomedical sciences.
  2. I think I will be taking the bus from Ann Arbor to Chicago. I found out Megabus is only $5!
  3. Are you planning on attending visit days both at Madison and Ann Arbor? I am trying to figure out how to manage because they are back to back, but with a weekend in the middle. (And a plane ticket from Madison to Detroit seems to be unreasonably expensive!)
  4. Wow. That's really amazing. I still haven't heard anything and considered it a rejection too. Hearing your result makes me a bit more hopeful. There is a lesson for all of us who take no news as bad news. Congratulations! (This is a corner of joy again.)
  5. Congrats to you too! How high is the program on your list? I am excited about the visit.
  6. Michigan! And, it came three minutes after the email from Wisconsin saying that I was awarded a fellowship! What a day.
  7. It was a mass email informing that the funding packages will go out next week and we should be expecting a call from a professor some time soon.
  8. Just got my rejection via the website. Hope there is better news for you guys!
  9. I am actually laughing out lout right now. What a turn around after your acceptance! You guys are all great. I got four rejections in the last two days. You are keeping me afloat. It will be great to have such a supportive bunch of colleagues and fun people to drink with at ASA meetings. OP: Congrats. I have similar questions, although I only have two acceptances. One of them is from Wisconsin. My advisor said he thinks it is not a very good idea to go there because of the heavy weed out mode in the first two years. It makes me a bit worried. I got in touch with current students and I am trying to figure out whether my training is good enough to make it. I like the program very much and I am leaning towards trying my luck. I am certainly not kept up at night by these questions. Why don't you wait a bit and enjoy the glory first before switching back to the neurotic mode.
  10. Wonderful! Congratulations! I am sure the wait for other results will get a lot easier now.
  11. Anybody knows their attrition rate? I can't find it anywhere, but I suspect it is pretty high.

Ah, now I am nervous again!
  13. So you exist! Great:) And congrats. That's an amazing department. On a different note - just got my acceptance from Emory! It makes me feel a little better about the morning rejection from UCLA. I thought it was a perfect fit, but a professor told me they couldn't find funding. Oh well. I am still waiting, but breathing much more easily. Keeping my fingers crossed for you all.
  14. I don't think anybody will be able to give you a good answer to this. The decisions are usually made by committees of faculty members and all departments have their quirks. The general rule of thumb is probably no news = more likely bad news, but miracles are never impossible. For instance Wisconsin went out in two waves, although they were only a day apart. But really, who knows. One day I would like to understand this power game.
  15. I am international and I've gotten notices so far at the same time as everyone else.
  16. I think the ILA interviews already happened. I just interviewed with the soc program.
  17. I mostly worry that they did not meant to send me the email and confused me with someone else
  18. I am wondering if anyone knows anything about the UCLA situation. I would have expected them to be contacting last week.
  19. Yeah, that must be based on what I wrote in the other thread It seems to me like they tell you go and find it in the department. From the numbers that they give on their website it seems that most people find funding. (Or most of those who choose to attend.) The funding concern is one of the main reasons why I started this topic. I was reading through last year's posts and some of them seemed overwhelmingly negative. I am being considered for a fellowship, but I don't really know what happens if that falls through. On a different note, has anybody received a confirmation letter in the mail? I am irrationally anxious, since the acceptance email was not personalized..
  20. I wouldn't be surprised because last year their results came our really late.
  21. HA! I didn't even know that document existed until now. Glad to have one more place to click:)
  22. In the spirit of starting school specif threads - Anyone thinking about going to Wisconsin next year?
