I JUST GOT MY FIRST INTERVIEW! UMaryland Baltimore GPILS Program, Feb 6-7. WITH A SUB-3.0 GPA. It CAN be done!!!!

Officially going to be a grad student next year! Call from Michigan State this morning offering a position in the BMS program.

Just found this thread. Love it! Go Eco-types!  Interviews in ecology/plant biology starting a week from this Thursday (Berkeley and then MSU). Ironically, calliope_dogstar, I actually do work in the dirtiest of dirt for my research--biological soil crusts + plants. Good luck everyone in the waiting-it-out process!

Thank you iheartplants! I'm so excited for UM, it's my top choice!
 
I actually applied to the micro program at MSU (more microbial ecologists in that dept). I was surprised by how much I liked the school and would be super happy there as well.
 
I love how all of you Michiganders show the mitten when you talk about where you're from. Super cute.   Can't wait to live there (hopefully!!)

Just got my invite for UMich EEB! Interview weekend Feb 13-15.
 
They make travel arrangements so no need to worry about reimbursement, etc.

Geez I was right. People are really bitter on this site.

They were done in December. You got in maybe because some people like me decline their interview.

Same here--got notification from POI and then got official (personalized) email from the grad coordinator. The committee met yesterday afternoon to take a vote on applicants, and proff said invites would go out last night and/or today.
