Again, this is based on hearsay: you should speak to your POI or the DGS (but not at student visits, because one should not be a jerk ^^). I guess being polite and saying that you are really interested in their program but you got a better financial offer from an equivalent program that would be hard to turn down and whether it would be possible for them to revise the stipend should be good enough. They can then let you know if it's possible or not, and enter into negotiations if yes.
-
From what I've heard, it's possible, but one needs to have a credible threat. That is, you need to have a reason for them to change your stipend. Such a reason could be, for example, if you were offered a higher stipend by another school etc.

I did send a few emails myself. I think the system is just weird. Anyway, I'm focusing on the acceptances instead
-
Not a very good plot I must say ^^
-
I didn't check all schools, just the ones I'd applied to/accepted to. Some schools (Rochester) provide details on tenure track and non-tenure track as well, which I think is quite useful. No email from NYU yet. This is a bit irritating.

Hi all, there are some programs that provide placement details here: https://sites.google.com/site/honestgraduatenumbers/ Detailed info for some. Should help out people who can't make it for visits etc.!
-
Not that I'm going for any visits, lol, but I would wear a pair of cotton trousers, collared t-shirt, leather shoes, a sweater, and a blazer/jacket depending on how cold I feel.

When they were beaten 5-1 at Anfield, I must admit I choked up a bit. I hope we win at least the FA cup this year!
-
Thanks! I found only one. Anyway, I'm hoping they haven't released all decisions, but marking that down as a rejection.
-
Does anyone know when Stanford GSB will release PolEcon admission decisions?
-
No prob JdP, I figured that if I was going to a program for 5 years, being frank would be a dominant strategy starting now. Cultivate honest relationships etc. So I decided to be nice and upfront.

Well, I thanked them for their email, told them I was very excited to find out that I had been accepted, said that their work was interesting and I would love to be involved in it at some point in the future, explained that it was not possible for me to make it for the student visit but wanted to know more about the program anyway and asked if it would be possible for them to answer some questions. So far I have a skype appointment with one Prof.

Well I got no response, not even a waitlist. A bit in the dark. But no worries, things will happen when they will!
-
ATTENTION ALL: "The application process is ongoing and you will be notified when a decision has been made." - NYU So I guess we just have to wait. I cannot guess why though. His reply was rather cryptic.
-
Re NYU: No response yet. I just wrote another email to the administrative assistant. Lets hope I get a reply back!
-
I emailed Prof Sanford. No reply yet. I'll let you all know if I do get a reply later today.
-
Just emailed Sanford. Will post the reply if I get one. Assuming a rejection as well, but I would like a clear answer.

Hi everyone, I was wondering if everyone has heard from NYU? I still haven't received a response.
-
Congrats!
-
Thanks I calmed down. I thought I was a better fit at Princeton, but this is amazing. I am very thankful.
-
THANK YOUUUU! WHY CAN'T ONE SHOUT IN TEXT!
-
YESSSSSSSSSSSS. MICHIGAAAAANNNNNNN!!
-
Congrats bud! Still haven't heard anything from them...
-
I hope you are correct
