  1. I'm taking my first OMSCS class now (machine learning for trading). Super chill. In retrospect, I actually really feel that OMSCS is very well thought out, and UIUC's online platform likely much less thought out. Plus OMSCS costs so little and it's reputation is similar to that of UIUC. I would highly recommend OMSCS
  2. OMG I GOT INTO MIT SDM AND MIT LGO.
  3. It went well I think, it was over skype with Rutu. Did u apply/interview?
  4. I applied to MIT SDM and got interview invite today.
  5. Dude screw Berkeley MEng. I applied twice in 2015 and 2016, and both rejected. This year I didn't even bother.
  6. Hi all, I've been accepted to both UIUC's MCS program and Georgia Tech's OMSCS program for Spring 2017. I consider acceptance to both a miracle considering that I did my undergrad in EE with only 1 intro to CS class (but now with 2 years of work experience). Both are distance online and I hope to continue to work and do grad school at the same. I'm wondering what you guys think about both programs? Which one is better in your eye? Here the catch: the UIUC program is around 30k total while Georgia Tech is 7k total... so I'm leaning heavily towards Georgia Tech. Thanks!
  7. I know I'm replying 4 years late, but anyone else applying to LGO 2017? I'm really excited to be finally applying for this amazing program!!
  8. I received my acceptance to USC for MS in Systems Archetecting and Engineering and Computer Science like 1 month ago (spring 2017). You should reach out to admissions directly

  10. It's over, we got rejected. Universities usually don't send acceptances across multiple days. We'll probably be emailed a generic letter saying to check online to find out rejections.
  11. Waiting for EE MS results from CMU and Berkeley right now :/. Haven't gotten any acceptances yet, so there is good possibility that I won't even be able to go back to school :'(
  12. I just got rejection email today :'(
  13. Hmmm I think many of them actually specify MENG in the description though
  14. If you look under Berkeley in results, some people have already said they get rejected from EECS MEng on Feb 19th :(. Does this mean we have a better chance of getting admitted since it's mid-March where people usually get accepted?
  15. Who did you talk to during your interview? Admission officers or faculty members?
  16. Nope, mine also says no interviews planned. Damn I think we got rejected man...
  17. hey man, I applied for SDM (which was deadline 4 weeks ago) and I also haven't heard back about interviews or anything :/. Maybe we both are rejected already.
  18. Damn, I see. I do remember from other posts that no having an interview does not necessarily mean you have no chance of getting in.
  19. Hey, I applied for Embedded Systems as my top choice and Physical Electronics as second :). I come from mostly a circuits background and want to focus more on systems.
  20. Applied for MEng in EECS. Anyone else waiting it out as well? Or heard anything back??
  21. UCSB Mechanical is respectable program, but getting a job afterwards might be more difficult compared to other higher ranked schools. I think this is the case because mechanical engineering jobs is in much less demand theses days.
  22. Np.... I don't understand the motivation for them to reject so much! It does seem that they heavily are against admitting international students though overall. Considering Princeton's lack-luster reputation in Engineering in general... it is a bit too harsh
