  1. Hi! I was accepted there. As it is my first acceptance, I can't say whether or not I'll accept it. I'm a first round applicant too, so I don't know much either
  2. I just got a phone call from Tufts University! First acceptance. Beyond excited.
  3. Congrats to those Tufts's acceptances!!!!!!
  4. Haha. Someone who knows my favorite town!!! Um I'm just gonna wait for the rejection but calling would be so tempting.
  5. Ya like I said it depends. My grant last year only had a few people apply but some grants just always interview. I went off the us-uk site because I figured that was the most accurate for the majority. But honestly, who knows?
  6. Hi! I too am a UK finalist. Me and the two others on this thread both heard Tuesday/Wednesday. I've heard a few things about these interviews. The first was that everyone gets one, the second was that only those who more information is needed have interviews, and the third (from the US-UK website but for the life of me I cannot find it now) was that only those further short listed get an interview. If you are concerned, perhaps contact the UK contact for Fulbright and ask? Or ask your school if you applied through them. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.
  7. Has anyone been rejected from NYU yet? I kinda just want to get my rejection over with as I'm certain there'll be no more acceptances or waitlists.
  8. Omg I down voted by accident and it won't let me undown vote. I'm so sorry! I was trying to up vote and have lArge fingers and a tiny phone. You are my favorite I'm sorry!
  9. Depending on where you leave, housing can be very expensive here. Plus, we are called Taxachusetts for a reason. But I love it here! It is a great state and UMass is in a wonderful area.
  10. My friend got into the program there. Idk if it is MA or MA/PhD. Exciting though!
  11. Candidates for the UK have to do them. If you are not applying to the UK, you generally don't have one. It is country specific.
  12. With UMass: People are logging on to spire. For funding, you need an interview with the writing center people (generally). So people are finding out they've been accepted without funding but with the potential.
  13. Checked my Tufts status. Nothing changed yet. I LOVED that program so I'm hopeful.
  14. To all UKers: I just got an email confirming that I've been shortlisted for a phone interview. It should be coming soon for the rest of y'all!
  15. Two questions: 1. Does anyone think UChicago is still notifying and following last year's pattern? 2. Is anyone else praying UVA calls them soon, because I really am...
  16. I only say that because I applied for them, spent 4 years preparing for the application, and didn't make it to the interview. The marshall takes 40 and the Rhodes 32, but that is out of the whole country, and if you look at stats, Harvard and Yale get about 5 each per scholarship (if not more). It is a hard application/process and you just need to be prepared is my point
  17. Rhodes and Marshall deadlines are in October. You could also apply for a fulbright to fund a masters, but you'd be applying this upcoming year for the year after. Also, congrats to you graduating debt free. I've not been nearly as lucky, but I highly recommend not taking on any debt regardless of how awesome a UK program would be. I also recommending going for a Fulbright. They care more about your project, whereas the Rhodes and Marshall care more about you as a person, and as my advisor said, unless you save a village somehow, you probably won't get one. Judging by who they pick, I'd say that is correct.
  18. Well, should all else fail, I'd say you could go into photography But I'm sure you'll get into some awesomesauce schools.
  19. Kamisha, that is a beautiful picture. Did you take it? (Off topic I know...)
  20. I love how you included the fact that you didn't get info for the rest of us. I appreciate you keeping us in mind when reading your acceptance letter. Makes me really glad we have the community here And yes, I do hope it doesn't become encased in snow
  21. Cheers to UChicago person!
  22. I would say now. You sent a few emails already. They probably just can't/don't want to check. Let it be.
  23. Three? I only see two
