  1. I think the website listed above is correct. I just know I got a second email from ssis (or w/e it is called) and it looked different than the app page
  2. You should have received an email with your DUKE ID and a place to go to check on application materials. That is where it says it. Not just the app page.
  3. This is a stupid question (and sorry for posting so much) but when I log on to the Duke App Checker, it says: "The status of your admission decision is located in the box on the right-hand side of this page." But there is no decision notification, so I'm assuming it just isn't uploaded yet, right?
  4. Where are you in Germany? I studied there and hope to return at some point.
  5. I hope so! If Not, I'm sure I'll be more prepared next year. My school doesn't offer conference opportunities for english or scholarships to attend ones outside our school, but I am going to be attempting to get into the undergrad research one this year, so hopefully I can make my record even better
  6. I mean, if you don't get in, I don't see how it'd be possible for the rest of us
  7. Dear god! How did you do all that? Was that in masters or undergrad too? I'm a senior and only have one publication, two research experiences, and a few awards under my belt. I'm hoping what makes me stand out is the originality of my research/research topic, but who knows. I've taken a few undergrad courses and studied abroad a few times, so I'm hoping that also speaks to my potential. We'll see though. I would be absolutely shocked if I got in. I'd probably just die.
  8. Have hope! Besides, if it is not meant to be, it is probably because there is a better program for you out there! I am fairly certain I won't get in, but I also knew that when applying. Why do we do this to ourselves?
  9. Oh thank god. If accepted, I'll be at the end. So I can rest for a bit I guess
  10. Possibly? It was two days ago, which still seems rather early, so I wouldn't fear. Looking at last year, some of the acceptances were a bit staggered. And I don't have any new notifications on my Duke App page.
  11. Someone got notified about Duke and was accepted yesterday. Congrats to whoever it was! And for all of us still not having heard back, good luck!
  12. I have an interdisciplinary approach. I study violence theory as applied to literature, particularly Victorian literature, using an ethnographic feminist approach. It's Anthro and English combined kind of.
  13. If only that link helped with partnership awards!!
  14. THAT COULD BE NEXT WEEK!?!?! Coolness.
  15. The best thing we can do now is just to wait. I know how terrible that is, but worrying won't help. I've found this thread helps me relax and I've come to terms that there will be mistakes but they expect that.
  16. I somehow think they expect it/don't notice. I'm worried about mine because you can tell that I switched out the Uni name, but they'd be silly if they thought I was only applying there. Silly I tell you!
  17. It's okay. I put a "the" before a uni that doesn't have a the (The Princeton) and somehow, despite reading it 12 times, missed it. I doubt that'll be what ruins your application.
  18. That made me laugh. And in these stressful times, I can only thank you. What are you hoping to concentrate in there?
  19. Hey guys, so this is completely Fulbright unrelated, but I thought I might just ask. I'm looking to re-up the coverage on my mac and I"m debating between Best Buy's geek squad coverage and applecare. I would normally do apple care bc it is international on the off chance I get the Fulbright, but because it doesn't cover drops (which despite me being so careful with I know I'm likely to do), I'm curious about geek squad. It is also 169 for GS and 249 for AC, but GS is only for 1 yr and AC for 2yrs. I'm just curious if anyone has had experience with this.
  20. There are two committees. The host country committee and then one here that is higher up. You need to be recommended by both to succeed in getting a grant. Sometimes, the host country will accept your application but the US one won't.
  21. Did anyone hear from Duke? or NYU? They were the earliest deadlines i had, so I'm just curious. They did probably get a ridiculous amount of applicants though.
  22. I sent mine via my registrar. Should get there within 7 to 10 days. I was thinking of doing the tracking, but I wanted it to come straight from my school. Good luck to you!
  23. Yeah I'm really debating getting mine from the registrar and mailing it myself so I can track it...Also, any UK recommended people around? Did you find out if/when the interviews are? My FPA said they don't do them for all programs but idk...
  24. It's been my dream to study there for so long!
  25. Leicester! My dream school! What about you? (I have been unable to scroll through all the results so sorry if you need to post twice).
