I know!! I have not yet met another one and I'm including my peers at my current institution. -

I went to UMass Amherst which is similar to UConn in many ways: large state school in the middle of nowhere. If you don't live on campus, it is fine. And even if you do, unless you live in the Southwest of UConn, which I bet they don't put grad students there, you're fine. Most things probably close early anyways in town, so you won't really need to worry about that either. -

Hi! I am also a Victorianist and I currently am doing my undergrad at Amherst. I didn't apply to Indiana though. I found their funding package was too low so I didn't think it worth it, though their program is amazing. I also applied to Rutgers and am hoping for the best! I really like that certificate option too. Just thought I'd say hi! -
Yup. Especially since it was never found, so I didn't get a refund on my shipping nor did I get a refund for the cost of the lost item. So annoying. I should have paid extra for insurance, but I feel like if you pay to have something shipped and they lose it, they should have to pay for it. But that's just me.

I sent mine through my school. They have never lost anything for me. Plus, I once shipped with confirmation and it SOMEHOW got lost between the time it was scanned in as delivered and the time it should have reached its destination. So I just went with what was easier.

I was accepted into Tufts (I am beyond thrilled!). I'm sorry about UMass. The department is full of amazing professors and all of them are super nice (My advisor was just unreal in terms of how nice and helpful she was). But I've heard wonderful things about UConn. -
Fall 2014 applicants??

Usually when you get to the site, it has a personalized letter (at least mine did for when I was accepted). UConn, for example, sent an email with a very nice, personalized letter. Tufts called and a few days letter, a POI contacted me. I figured that Harvard, one of the top schools in the country, would go that extra mile. BUT they obviously don't have to. I mean, it is an amazing feeling, I'm sure, just to read the Congratulations -

NYU English already went out I'm pretty sure. Acceptances and Wait lists. If you're talking about Comparative literature, the wait could be for a bit more. -

I currently go to UMass Amherst so I'm pretty familiar with large campuses in the middle of nowhere. I'm not an excellent sprinter having to run from one end of campus up the massive hill to the other. -

You poor Purdue people! That is so mean! I really hope you get in soon! -

So I was concerned about UVA until I looked at the past boards and now I just don't care. They accept all over the board so until I'm rejected, I'm staying positive!!! Good luck to everyone and I hope people hear from Purdue soon. -

I'm pretty sure I"m going to turn down my offer. I got more funding and a fellowship from a better university, but I still want to check out the campus. -
Fall 2014 applicants??

I would much rather have them say on February 22nd, everyone will know then have it be all randomly done. UVA, for example, sends out rejections, acceptances, and wait lists at random. Some people were rejected a month ago, some will be soon. For acceptances, some got them now, but last year, some got them in March that were not off the wait list. It is so weird. -

I have to say, Harvard seems slightly rude. A mass email for acceptances? Really? They only accept at most 8 people probably. Is it that hard to personalize it? Or call people? Plenty of other schools managed to do it. -

In total honesty: should I be giving up on UVA and Harvard if I didn't hear back today or can I drag out hope until tomorrow night? I'm a "W," so I'm hoping if they do alphabetical admits I'd know tomorrow... -
Gnome Chomsky, I wish there were a fan option on Grad Cafe. You are hysterical.

According to the book of world records, the University of al-Karaouine is the oldest. But Heidelberg is the oldest in Germany!
