I got 3 acceptances at the end of February or early March. Once you get to mid-March I'd start wondering if you were informally wait listed or rejected, but not until then.

Some advice for everyone wanting to get off of a waitlist: as soon as you find out you're on one for one of your top choice schools, send a nice email back to whomever contacted you and say how excited you are about the school and the possibility, that the school is your top choice, and be sure to include in the email what other offers you have. Also, say that you are willing to--and do--send along any offers from other universities that you receive, as you receive them from there on out. Other than those things, I would not recommend calling to inquire on the status. Good luck!

We should probably refrain from sending unnecessary emails. I realize most of us are still anxiously waiting to hear back from many programs. However, be mindful that the DGS, graduate coordinators, and staff are busy organizing campus visits, working with current graduate students, etc. I think as a courtesy we should let the process play itself out.

Just got accepted to Washington State! Full funding and stipend!

Congrats on Indiana. I received my MA from there last year. Amazing, supportive department, and Bloomington is awesome.

Still waiting for news from Columbia (presumed rejection at this point?) but hey, I just found out I got in to Indiana! Now I'm just waiting for that rejection from Columbia and sweet, sweet peace of mind will be mine! 

Insider tip: Boston College acceptances have gone out. However, at least one person has a strong competing offer, and last year people were still being admitted even after the visit day because some in the first round didn't accept. So there could be more to come.

Just an FYI; it's Indiana University, not "University of Indiana."

I had my interview yesterday! I got a lot of "is this program a good fit for you?" "Can you expand on that?" "Really?" "...Are you sure?" 
I'd guess that was because my fit was, in fact, less obvious than would have triggered them to start pitching the more nitty-gritty historiographical stuff.

God I do not miss one bit this part of the process. Hang tough friends!

Indeed! Here's to hoping my MA pays off like yours did! If I recall you killed it last cycle. 

Survived my first week of classes and assignments, and now I'm in my second ^.^ I even managed to get a grader position for an undergrad course; nothing too glamorous but Im satisfied as a first yr MA haha. 
I feel the same way, wacyeah and ashiepoo72! My adviser, and grad mentor have been SO helpful and welcoming. In fact, the entire dept is great. I am very happy to be here, and I know I made the right choice by coming to IU.

Congrats! IU is wonderful and Bloomington is an oasis in Indiana. I'm finishing up my MA in May, and have nothing but amazing things to say about the program, people, and faculty. I trust you'll enjoy your time here.

Yeah that's rough. I'm really impressed by people who are able to coordinate a huge change like this when they have a partner to consider. I'm lucky it's just me and my daughter. She thinks it's a democracy, but I'm really the dictator of this relationship haha

I've already had a few so this isn't saying much, but I'm down like a clown for the AHA conference.

Officially rejected by Madison. Lovely department, but Scott Walker makes me glad I won't be in Wisconsin haha
