  1. Congratulations! Great news!
  2. The NYU deadline was moved to 2/1? I didn't know that! Unless you're talking about another school
  3. I was waitlisted at Boston University! If anyone was accepted but does not plan on attending, PLEASE let them know so I have a chance!
  4. Congratulations!!!! I'm so happy for you! I'm literally shaking in class waiting for my e-mail... I'm sorry LMZ I'm sure you will get in somewhere else!
  5. I was only able to speak with Dr. Magaldi, who was very personable and honest in her responses to our questions. They did not offer a tour of the clinic on that day, which was a bit disappointing. Dr. Magaldi said that it was older and less updated than the clinics at Montclair and Kean. The information discussed during the session is all available on the website. I liked the area but would like to learn more about the school before choosing to commit to it if I am accepted. Additionally, Wayne is a beautiful town. I currently attend Stockton College and can say that the faculty here is very knowledgeable and helpful. The clinic is also a great resource as an undergraduate student, located very close to campus, and with a large client base. Of course, if a school doesn't feel right, by no means should you go there. The most important thing is feeling comfortable with your school and environment!
  6. I also received this e-mail! When I attended the Graduate School open house in October, Dr. Magaldi emphasized that if you did not receive any news, that means that your application is still being considered, which is better than a rejection. So note to everyone: don't freak out if you don't get a decision from them next week!
  7. The application for Montclair State University isn't even due until March 1. That will probably be my longest wait.
  8. I wonder how they determined who would be offered an acceptance without an interview. That's very exciting news!
  9. Did any other NYU applicants receive an e-mail from Maria Grigos regarding scholarship information? The e-mail does not insinuate that a decision has been made, but I am wondering whether or not it was sent to all applicants.
  10. It was very relaxed! The faculty and graduate students there were extremely friendly and more than happy to answer our questions. Good luck!
  11. Will anyone else be interviewing at Boston University tomorrow?
  12. I conducted an independent study for my minor that required a few months of research. It was a fun experience.
  13. This might be a little out there, but since I was in high school, I've had a minor obsession with Legally Blonde: The Musical. It isn't on Broadway anymore, but it is on YouTube. I can relate watching Elle jump through hoops to try to get into Harvard Law School.
  14. Hope: I hope to be accepted to at least one school in New Jersey and one school out of state Dream: My dream is to be accepted to every school that I applied to, with assistantship offers and funding Guess: Realistically speaking, I'm fairly confident that I will be accepted to at least one school, but we can never be too sure I've been trying to stay positive during these past few weeks! If something is meant to be, it will be. I've done what I can aside from rocking my interviews, so now all that's left is to hope for the best possible outcome!
  15. Congratulations MNIJ and kbell! I can't wait to hear back from them, hopefully with the same good news!
  16. Monmouth University has a summer start date (in May), but their application deadline has already passed.
  17. I just received an e-mail saying that I made it to the interview round at Boston University!!!! I can't even describe the weight that has been lifted off of my shoulders! I hope that you all receive good news in the near future! ...sorry for the exclamation point overload
  18. Thanks! I applied close to the deadline, so that's what I'm hoping!
  19. I checked my portal and do not have any new credentials listed. Hopefully there's still a chance that I will be invited for an interview, but I'm feeling more nervous than I did before. All I can do now is remain positive! lisa19 - I read the CD Admissions FAQ and found the following information: "Highly qualified candidates will be invited to the campus for an interview during the last two weeks of February. Candidates will meet individually with two members of the faculty. On campus interviews are highly encouraged, but Skype interviews are available for those applicants who are unable to travel to campus." However, I could not find the part that stated: "Candidates will receive invitations to interview in the first week of February 2014. Interviews will be held February 21-23, 2014." Where is that information posted?
  20. The results search is beginning to come alive with decisions! Thank goodness that tomorrow is February 1st.
  21. I was reading through some older topics the other day. These had some helpful content regarding interviews: Hope that helps!
  22. I applied to Kean University! I saved this essay for last because I felt that it was the most difficult. This question and "If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?" are, in my opinion, the two most challenging questions to answer. For this question, there are so many places that I would love to visit. I didn't know whether to discuss it from an active or passive perspective. My answer WAS speech-language related, but I didn't overthink it. I was honest and creative in my response. I also tried to incorporate as much about my personal beliefs and background as possible, without changing the topic of the essay as a whole. My first paragraph entailed how I arrived at my decision, the second paragraph explained where I would choose to travel, and the remainder of the essay discussed why I wanted to go there, what I would do there, and how it would impact me personally.
  23. I was the person who posted that information on the results search. My CSDCAS application had been verified earlier that morning. The e-mail, from Brie Goellner, states, "Your application is complete and will be passed along to the admissions committee for review. Your complete application includes your CSDCAS application, all relevant transcripts, official GRE scores, 3 letters of recommendation, and if applicable, official TOEFL scores. Highly qualified candidates will be invited to interview with faculty during the weekend of February 21-23." To clarify, it's not an invitation, but a notice that invitations will be sent out in the near future. That gives applicants sufficient time to plan for that weekend in the case that they are invited to interview. Best of luck, fellow BU applicants!
