  1. Thanks same to you. Tonight I'm relaxing I'm going to watch a movie and just chill.
  2. Welcome wishing you the best
  3. I can't believe it's finally here. After all my research for programs, applications, preparing for the GRE, writing a SOP, submitting LOR's and waiting and waiting for a response. At times it felt as if my head would explode waiting and checking emails. Then I received a rejection letter and that rejection stung, but I didn't stop I kept going. Then one day I didn't even check my mail and my acceptance letter sat there waiting for me. Is this really happening to me because I can't believe that it's the night before graduate school. I know it's going to be a rough road but I'm looking forward to it. So thankful I found this forum and could chat with others who understand my anxiety. Thanks! Wishing all of you a wonderful year!
  4. Thanks guys for all the replies. I have been out of undergrad for thirteen years, am now married with three children. I'm a little nervous to say the least and wanted to get my hands on the syllabi as early as possible in order to get a jump on my reading etc. The nervous energy inside is telling me I need to do something for school just waiting for classes to start was making me more nervous. Being a wife and mother there are many things that will not change in my household because I have chosen to begin my Masters. So the earlier I can plan out the semester the better. As luck would have it today the syllabi posted. I guess I needed to be more patient, less anxious. Certainly once classes begin I should be able to breathe a sigh of relief and start churning out the work. Thanks again for the replies.
  5. Point taken fuzzylogician I don't want to make a name for myself for the wrong reasons.
  6. Thanks biotechie, I think in my desire to prepare myself I am stressing over the smallest details. I'm going to relax.
  7. I forgot to add that I have reached out to the professor twice but no response. I guess I will wait until the first day. Sigh
  8. Great advice! I based my decision on a man choosing my university in undergrad and we broke up first semester. But almost 20 years later I'm so grateful things did not work out between us.
  9. All of the syllabi for fall have been posted except for the classes my professor is teaching. I printed syllabi from previous semesters with the same professor to get an idea of what to expect and what order to read the chapters. It's less than a week prior to class starting and I was told the syllabi would be ready two weeks prior to class. I called my department and was told they have done all they can do but another entity on campus is the hold up. My type A personality is freaking out.
  10. Geographyrocks that is a great idea. I forgot to consider the thrift stores.
  11. So this is my final week prior to staring school. I've been debating if I really need a file cabinet or not in my home office where I will do the majority of my studying. What's your take? Part of me feels like I should just purchase one on the other hand it's hard to say what percentage of articles will be stored in the cloud versus an actual paper copy. Any ideas?
  12. Nine days to enjoy my freedom.....

  13. When I considered a MSW there were two tracks one for students with a BSW and one for students without a BSW. For those students without you are required to take a few more classes.
  14. Man I am loving OneNote!!! I took the boys to the park today and I figured I would study a bit while they play. When I got there I realized the book I was studying from earlier along with my note pad were at home. Thankfully the book for my other class was in my bag and I had my phone to take notes. Sweet.

  15. I don't have a TA position I'm taking only six hours which is two classes. At my university nine hours is considered full time for grad students. I'm going to see how the first semester goes then possibly more hours next semester.
  16. Well they do want your money technically, however they wouldn't have granted you admission if they didn't feel you were capable.
  17. When you feel that you don't deserve something. Key example is getting accepted into graduate school but you don't feel like you're as smart as your cohorts.
  18. Thanks for the encouragement.
  19. Me too I feel like just the other day I had over 60 days to prepare and now only 15. But I've done well I still have to get a few things done in my office though.
  20. Sigmund Freud had some interesting theories....
