  1. Wishing my department would release the books for fall already. Are we using current editions or new editions. I really want to take advantage of this down time. I don't want to feel rushed and unprepared come fall. sigh (while tapping fingers on desk)

  2. wildviolet How cool that you are apart of a knitting group. I am teaching myself to crochet and I've been working on it on and off for years. I can never get my stiches just right. I know it comes with practice. I actually was thinking of switching over to knitting for a bit for a change of pace. reinhard Cooking lessons are on the agenda for the summer. Simple things they can do themselves to help mom out.
  3. Thanks I'm glad to see I'm not alone. I was wondering if I would be able to find time for things I enjoy, knitting, sewing, etc. I will be relying on my support system heavily, although it's tough to tell when I will need them the most but it's comforting to know the offers are there.
  4. kittyk I can't imagine living without my family. You are very brave. At least modern technology will make it easier to communicate via skye or facetime. Good luck to you, I hope you don't flunk out. Depending on the age of your children you may find it much easier to study without them.
  5. Counting down the days until I'm no longer free to rest and relax. 60 days and counting.....

  6. Late but I applied to MS Counseling at Texas A&M Commerce. Looking for other MS Counseling students.
  7. Great advice I hadn't thought of that. Best of luck to you as we'll.
  8. Good luck. I was personally happy to get GRE behind me. I think you have enough time to study if you make the most of your time.
  9. Cleaning out my office today. I've got to make my work/study area appealing.

LOL... Let me know if it works. I did the same, but I find that I steer clear of the area when I walk by.

Funny how I stay out of the office/classroom when it's not neat and tidy. If I could only figure out a system to help me keep it neat. As I really plan on using that area for my studies.

Well, I claimed a tiny space in a guest bedroom for my study space and have my desk there. LOL, looking for chair and got some school stuff, but yeah gotta get it finished. Register July 25 and August 23? school starts...

  10. Back from vacation :(

  11. I contacted their customer service I wanted to know if my 15.6 computer would fit. They replied no, but that they are working on a bag for larger laptops. It's not ready though.
  12. So I'm secretly hoping that I do extremely well in grad school to make up for my okay performance in undergrad.
  13. I'm married with three and my husband has a great job so I was limited to schools near by. I wish I could move to a new state for a fresh start. In some ways it feels like I won't get the full experience. Reading all the posts of people moving, buying furniture etc., sounds exciting. Meanwhile I'm hoping my home will be quiet enough for me to comprehend my reading. A bit of wishful thinking.
  14. I am having a similar anxiety attack. I keep thinking the school is going to change my acceptance to a rejection.
  15. Wow, Navy Mom I'm exhausted just reading your schedule.
  16. When did you join the societies? I would like to join two the ACA ( American Counseling Association) and then one for counselors in my state. Should I join now in the summer before I begin graduate school or wait until I'm taking classes. I've already been accepted to a school and I have registered for the fall.
  17. I'm late but couldn't resist. I love OITNB, Hell on Wheels, Nip Tuck. I watch a ton of documentaries and stand up comedy as well. Netflix has been great for us since we cut our cable package down to the basic channels.
  18. I am 35 mom of three young children. I am starting my graduate course work this Fall. So glad to find this thread. I finished undergrad in 2001 got married that same year worked a bit and began a family in 2004. I've been at home since 2005 I knew that when I re-entered the working world I would have to go back as a whole new person. I wanted something completely different. Wishing you all the best as fall is just around the corner. Can I ask the group when is your first day of class and how many hours are you taking? My first day is August 25 and I'm taking six hours Intro to Counseling and Counseling Theories and Techniques. Feeling a mixture of excitement and anxiety that's hard to explain. My husband is supportive but I know this will not be a walk in the park however, I believe I'm up for the challenge.
  19. I know bumblyboo. I was very close to purchasing the Lo & Sons bag but my laptop is too big. So back to the drawing board for a messenger bag when I need something a little more professional that will fit my laptop.
  20. Voulez-Vous Congrats on your decision to go back to school. Welcome to the nervous mommy going back to school club. I'm sure you will be fine. How great that your family is moving with you so you can complete your degree. Good luck.
  21. Enjoying a mini vacation

      LOL no at the beach.

  22. NavyMom, I do understand... I'm concerned with the workload as well, especially with the age of my children. Earlier this year as I studied for the GRE it felt like each time I sat down to study at home one of my kids would get sick, have an urgent matter that needed my attention, or decide they needed to ask me one hundred questions at that moment. sigh I thought to myself perhaps I should have just signed up for a dance class. LOL! Yes I will need a friend to help me push through till the end.
  23. Reading a book or two. Helping my family prepare for the transition of mommy/wife in grad school. Going to the beach and savoring these last few moments of freedom before the metal hits the road.
  24. Great advice thanks!
