  1. Does anyone know if the University of Michigan visit weekend has happened yet? I'm anxiously awaiting news about the waitlist.
  2. I opened my acceptance email from Yale while eating lunch alone in a tiny town in Colombia. I just froze, then started crying, then went crazy texting friends. The poor lady at the restaurant thought I didn't like the food, and I was too in shock to be able to get anything out in Spanish. Pretty amazing. I took a bunch of "this is where it happened" photos. That town will forever be special to me!
  3. Have any Yale admits heard anything about funding? I've only received the generic acceptance email and am eager for more information. So exciting!
  4. I got the mass acceptance email from Yale, too. Don't second guess it, we're in!!
  5. Bumping this thread. Is this something we should do before or after program visits?
  6. Also silent for UCSD. Sadly, I don't think it means anything as it looks like notifications have gone out in batches past cycles. Anxiety on high over here!
  7. I'm a Chicago admit - my online status has not changed. I was contacted by the Graduate Studies Administrator with an attached letter from the Chair (or DGS, can't remember). The letter specifically stated everything is now in the hands of the Arts and Sciences administration, and the "official" letter is to follow. Hope that helps!
  8. I think I might shutdown UCSD's entire system with my incessant refreshing.
  9. I'm in at Chicago too (didn't post on the results page) and got the same notification as NMLogan.
  10. FYI - someone posted on the results page (under Government not Political Science) that Tina Slater at Cornell said results will be announced the last week of February. Wah wah! I was really hoping for next week...
  11. I wouldn't worry too much - it seems to me that their interview process is pretty informal (including when they request one), and they may not even interview everyone they plan on admitting. Think positive, there's still plenty of time to go!
  12. I saw that, I was just hoping there was something more specific somewhere. Glad to know that's what you're seeing too. Thanks!
  13. Hey... did anyone else apply to MIT? There doesn't seem to be anywhere in their application system that indicates my app has been received or is in review. All I can find is a link for the application fee receipt. Is this true for everyone, or am I just missing something?
  14. I'm down! I would also be interested in seeing the mode of communication from each school. I've looked at the results page, and it seems that phone calls are falling out of favor for email, but there are still a few hold-outs. I'm going to be out of the country with no phone the entire notification period, so I have an extra little worry!
  15. So I took the GRE last week and am fine with my score, but not completely confident. I'm mostly applying to top programs, with a couple in the 20s-30s for good measure. I'm considering retaking the GRE for peace of mind (I'm in the same range as the poster above). I barely studied at all due to a combination of illness and arrogance, so I'm fairly certain I can score higher. Buuuut, the earliest I can retake it is November 11th. Do you guys think that's cutting it too close to deadlines? Most apps are due December 15th with I think one due December 1st. I know U of Chicago says something along the lines of "it can take 4-6 weeks for your scores to be sent from ETS"... Retake or no?
