That's still a long way to go, huh?
-
Thanks again Jessa. This is very helpful.

Hi there! I'm applying for the standard 2yr program. I don't think we are required to attend an interview with the Admissions Committee. Which track are you applying for?
-
That's wonderful Fenetian. Good luck with your new journey!
-
I hope we all get in!
-
Thanks Jessa. Will try to submit it this weekend. I'm sure we can revisit FAFSA and update the tax part once we have filed tax return and know for sure the real figures.
-
I totally agree with TheMonkey. Sounds like the best idea.
-
All, I have a question. Has anyone filled FAFSA? Is it too late if I file it at the end of February? I'm waiting for my spouse income and tax information (self employed).
-
Kamber, I'm sure you will hear the good news! Fingers crossed
-
Now I wish you hear from them soon (within the next 2 weeks)
-
tudor, when did you submit your application? You are applying for 2yr standard MSW?
-
Hey tudor3x8 congrats once again! As far as I remember from the info session, when Fordham sends you email with financial aid information, they will ask if you want to apply for Graduate Assistantship which if selected you will be helping in research, etc and get paid $1,500/semester. If you have any specific question, I recommend you shoot an email to Stephen McGowan at stmcgowan@fordham.edu He is willing to answer any question. He was an MSW at Fordham and now working in the Admissions. From my experience, I feel that he is very sincere and willing to help with anything. When he carried out the info session, I could tell that he was not faking and trying to eat our application fees. If you can't find your answers here in this forum, simply reach out to Stephen.

Congratulations tudor3x8! That was quick.
-
Yeah they are. I think we wont hear anything until March 1 (hope not go beyond that)

I am also thinking about applying for Yeshiva but the fact that their application deadline is not anywhere around the corner, I will wait until I hear back from the other 3 schools in NYC before I start my application with Yeshiva.

I have just attended Fordham's online info session and was very impressed how helpful the admissions team was. Although Fordham states that the minimum GPA is 3.0, but the admissions team encourages those with GPA below 3.0 to apply. The admissions associate himself is a graduate of the MSW program. He used himself as an example as when he applied to Fordham's standard 2yr MSW he was offered "conditional acceptance" i.e. once admitted he needed to maintain his first year GPA at least B grade because his undergrad GPA was below 3.0. What I want say is for those with low GPA, please do not give up. You still have a chance. The admissions team also offered to answer questions or concern you may have regarding your undergraduate GPA. They also revealed that their acceptance rate is 68%.

What a relief! Thank you tudor!

Hi tudor3x8. I applied on 01/17 but have just received a confirmation that my application is completed just now. Do you think it is weird if all the documents submitted do not show when we click "Preview Application Proof" I do not see a copy of my resume and personal statement when I click on the link. Are you having the same problem? I wrote to the Admission and they confirmed that they received everything though. Good luck!

Just wanted to have space where Fordham's applicants can share news and updates along the admissions process at this School.

Wow..way to go kargigogo. Congrats!

Just wanted to have space where Columbia's applicants can share news or any updates along their admissions process at this School.
-
What is this list for? Is it a waiting list to be admitted if someone declines an offer?
-
Has anyone heard back from Columbia? I know that they had a priority deadline. For those of you who applied during the priority deadline period, did you hear anything back from the School? Any update on your application status? Thank you!
-
Xnny, have you heard back from Columbia? What's the result? I hope you get in.
