Hi everyone! Hope you're all well. It's been a while since I've posted, probably because I'm freaking out internally and trying to avoid expressing this the anxiety virtually or in person.
I wanted to echo what @CrimsonEyes said earlier - I too am grateful for all of you. This period in our lives - what an exciting and stressful time! At the end of it all, we're in a beautiful place. In a few months, we'll be starting a 4-5 year journey. At this moment, many of us don't know where that journey will start. We'll know in due time. I am glad we are all supporting each other as we hear back from schools.

oh haha thank you @Beetroot you are too kind! I know how hard we all have worked to get to this point. I know whatever school you accept you will be a great      asset to the field.

Thanks @Beetroot and @wongjcz for the information. @CrimsonEyes please don't give up hope. I hear nothing from Upenn, too. We will all do great!
And just in case anyone here have applied to CWRU, the committee will finalize their decision-making process within the next few weeks.

Oh thank you @wongjcz I feel that we all should be supportive in one another, we are all trying to make a difference in this world and in the lives of others, why should that start after we graduate or even after acceptance. But I really do appreciate all your kind words, same to you @Beetroot. I got my MSW at Columbia, so I kind of had a feeling I wouldn't get accepted into the PhD program, so it was a long shot.
I am really grateful for this forum and for you all on this journey in becoming "Doctors" for the people we wish to serve and assist, in whatever capacity that may be. Good Luck to you all in whatever you choose to do!

Congratulations @Pszczolka for the acceptance to BU! Would you be open to sharing the financial aid package offered to you once you find out? I think applicants could benefit from any info we gather around what students are getting offered in terms of support as DrPH candidates.
@DraPHt2016 I will be interviewing with them too although I'm not exactly thrilled about the drive up to Athens at the crack of dawn to get there by 8:15AM.

You're right, I just hate seeing someone picked on for no reason. HJin didn't deserve the attitude Jade put out there, so I said something. Not a big deal, no sweat off my back...if Jade chooses to be a jerk, then it's fine but I when I see unfairness, I call it out.
And if we ran into each other in person, I would still say the same to Jade to her face. Everyone is stressed! For sure! But that doesn't give anyone the RIGHT to be a jerk to someone who didn't deserve it.

    @HJin @TonyaB @Jade355
I think all sides have made strong points. That said, let's just understand that this is a very stressful time for everyone on all sides of the application spectrum! We all want desperately to get into our most desired programs!
We're all in public health and may run into each other at conferences and workshops in the future. Is it too sappy to say "can't we all just get along"? Yeah? Too much?
You all have wonderful things to contribute to the world of public health, hence why we're all applying and hoping to study, research, and add to the field!

    Hey all!
I am glad that almost everyone got what they wanted out of this whole thing and am proud of all of you for your hard work
I visited UB this weekend (and am actually still in Buffalo right now) and was extremely happy with the program here. They really encourage students to conduct their own research throughout the program and provide a lot of funding for that, so everyone was completely down with my desire to go abroad for my advanced year field placement to do a study on international adoption policy. I am excited for that!
Anyway, good luck to everyone and I hope to continue hearing from ya'll on these forums!

@CrimsonEyes I'm not sure if Upenn processed my application faster because I am an international student. I'm really not sure how the whole thing progressed. I just received the outcome. I'm sorry I can't provide any more information. I can't say anything with certainty because I really do not know.
I applied to three schools - 2 in the U.S. (Upenn and Uchicago) and 1 in Australia (Umelbourne). I was admitted into the UChicago program. I'm not going to Melbourne because I prefer the program in Chicago to the one in Melbourne! But I love Melbourne as a city! Great coffee and cafe culture! And amazing Asian food!! Also, the phd coordinator at Umelbourne knew I was applying to U.S. programs and was completely fine (and very encouraging) about it. It was hard to decline the Melbourne offer.
    So I've finished waiting! Yay!!

Thanks @CrimsonEyes. I'm hopeful but am trying not to get too worked up about it until I actually see an official acceptance (what can I say? I'm a skeptical lady). Now if Columbia would just get back to us. They had their last meeting on Friday, yes? Hopefully we will hear soon. . .

Good luck HJin,UCSF is a great school and I am sure people would turn down their offers soon enough if they have a better offer!
Waiting is always hard (especially on the waitlist) and frustrating. However, it DOES make that final acceptance so much sweeter when you get it  Trust me, I just went through it this month LOL

@CrimsonEyes I submitted right on the deadline, and my application was finalized/ confirmed in the second week of January.
This wasn't my first rodeo. So, I don't believe the submission/confirmation date affects when they make a decision on an applicant.

Thanks for the good wishes, @CrimsonEyes! I received an email a few hours ago stating that my decision was available online. I had interviewed in the first week of February.
Best of luck to everyone waiting! I've been in that situation many times...

Congrats on being accepted to UChicago! That's awesome.
By the way, when Columbia mentioned to you on the phone that the decisions will go out next week, did they say that this is specifically for those applications submitted during the priority deadline or this applies to everyone submitted their applications within Jan 4th deadline?
Also soft_skeleton I think (if you have not done so) you should ask UChicago to kindly extend the deadline for you to say 'yes' to them

@CrimsonEyes Yep - I applied to the PhD in Social Work at Columbia. Thanks for the intel! Here's hoping we hear (and hear good news) soon! The profs at Penn didn't mention if they were speaking with any other candidates, but, again, we only spoke because I mentioned them in my SoP. It's possible other faculty have a different process or don't feel the need to do extra vetting. What is your area of interest?
