I'm right there with you.  I felt like a dead lock for a PhD position at Notre Dame but it looks like I'll be getting an MTS these instead.  It's definitely better than nothing! Stoked for you!

Found out Friday I got accepted to the MA at Vanderbilt. Not exactly what I wanted at the beginning of the PhD application season, but at least it's a step forward instead of another year of just waiting. Good luck to all of you starting the PhD and hopefully I'll be joining you all next year.

Same thing for me.  I hope they get back soon.  I have an offer from Notre Dame for an MTS so I need to start making life decisions very soon.

I was able to switch my PhD application at Vanderbilt to the MA through the department of religion, so hopefully that will pan out. Hopefully the MA will give me that little boost I need for next round.

Oh I'll certainly be taking the position.  I'm going to email Emory today to check my status.  But barring getting in there, I'll definitely be at Notre Dame next year.  After visiting, it instantly became the number one school on my list.

Sorry to hear it didn't go your way this year. The ND MTS is the most competitive I know of, and it's funded and then some. That is not a bad option IMHO. Seldom do people get in here without a two year master and something else, whether an MDiv, Fulbright, etc. It would also set you up pretty well in a year to apply to PhD's again, and ND especially since historically (though not recently) internal applicants do well.

Got pulled off the Duke ThD waitlist yesterday and offered admission. Field of study: Theology. 

Committed to Baylor! So excited to get started. Very difficult choice, but I am glad I made it.

Got a call yesterday from Duke Divinity. Accepted to the ThD program. 

The user has a negative reputation (numeric and otherwise) in this subforum. Also take a closer look at the institutions listed: Bob Jones and Princeton, Regent and Harvard. It's not a serious post.

So... I got accepted to CUA, but no word on scholarships...

Accepted to Emory, Bob Jones, Princeton U, and an online program (Capella) so far.  PhD in NT except for the online program. Really waiting to hear from Regent and Harvard. 

Got a call this morning from Emory. Admitted into the NT program!

I have an interview today with the Historical Theology faculty at Marquette via Skype. Anyone else interviewing with them today?

I was told by someone in my department that the faculty at Harvard is meeting this week to further discuss applications.  Take that for what it's worth.

As far as I know, from anecdotes from personal friends and individuals on this forum, that if one was not invited to interview at Emory you did not make the preliminary cut.  That being said, you never know what kind of machinations are going on behind closed doors and this whole process is one giant, enigmatic crap shoot.

Notre Dame's interviews are competitive. I got into their MTS program last year, and Vanderkam told me while I was there that they always invite more prospective PhD students than they can take. 

They usually make it clear in the invite email/phone call. You can either ask them directly, browse through previous years' posts regarding your school to see what others have said, or say what school you're talking about and maybe others here can help you out.
