This definitely varies by program. I am getting my Ph.D from TC and have a full scholarship and am funded for the next 4 years, so I suggest reaching out to the program specifically! I've also spoken to other students who have said that TC is trying to provide more funding for their doctoral students.

Yes, I agree. I've been accepted into a ph.d program with a 15% acceptance rate, whereas masters programs in the same program is much higher (closer to 50%) and that's true throughout the entire school. It would depend on your school, concentration and doctorate vs. masters!

Decided on TC! Got full funding for 4 years and #1 program in my subfield. Great faculty and lots of opportunities for research/teaching. Also, can't beat NYC

Hey! Has anyone else here been accepted into a doctoral program and know how TC uses tuition remission? How many credits it covers per semester? And how much we should expect to cover on our own? Thanks!!

When I called the office re: the transcripts change on my application portal she just said that it means that the committee is looking at my application. Didn't know how to read that, but I hope it does mean what we're guessing!

Don't be discouraged! I don't think they're allowed to say anything regardless of the decision. Hoping we have a decision by the end of the week!

I received that, too! At an open house last fall they encouraged all applicants who want housing to apply prior to receiving their decision, tho. I also noticed some funky stuff was happening in my application portal. Instead of having green checks next to my transcripts I now have red x's with the word "awaiting" next to them. I called the office to make sure they weren't missing any information and the woman on the phone said that changes on the application portal means the committee is looking at my application and that a decision will be available soon. She said to keep an eye on my email (as if I'm doing anything else ).

Yeah, I got that email too but they send it to everyone. I went to an open house in the fall and they explained that everyone who wants housing should apply before hearing back.
