  1. So there's a post on the "results" page with an acceptance yesterday (March 9). Can anyone claim it?
  2. Haha it makes the whole thing a little a little more mysterious, that's for sure. But it also helped a little because I didn't find myself constantly checking to see about updates
  3. What did they say??
  4. Well that seems logical but I will just cross my fingers that they accidentally press send tonight
  5. Great, thanks for asking!
  6. Wow, congrats! I would assume that means there was miscommunication between the department and admissions about when they were releasing decisions but I would also assume that means you're in! I applied for IA so hopefully that means decisions are rolling out today or tomorrow??
  7. Anyone have an opinion on when mid-March starts? Should I start panic-checking my application portal soon?
  8. I like this idea
  9. One day left, people! Anyone else praying to the admissions gods that we'll hear a day early?!
  10. Not a peep! MSFS is also the only school I applied to that doesn't have a graduate admissions blog posting updates so I feel a bit in the dark. I'm trying to not stress too much so I only check my application portal like once a week haha
  11. Well it looks like 12% of last year's class went on to employment with multilateral organizations (including the World Bank), but I'm not sure how easy/difficult it would be. I would imagine that having dual citizenship would be a bonus for many employers, but couldn't say for sure
  12. Yeah I have resisted making a mental list until I hear from all the schools and about funding offers
  13. Where else did everyone apply and where does SAIS fall on your list?
  14. Yeah, I put down both, as well. I think it would be awesome to study in Italy (though I don't know Italian) but would be open to either. Plus I figured it wouldn't hurt my chances to be flexible
  15. Oops, I misspoke...I meant significantly above for the GPA ha! Wow, too much time stressing out about my GRE score. I'm in the lower part of the 50% but hey, they give a range for a reason, right? Thanks for assuaging some of those quant fears, guys! I'm with you @mapiau...I studied for the GRE and still panicked on the quant section and got a lower score than I was hoping. Did yall leave open the option for Bologna or did you choose DC for both years?
  16. I'm glad I'm not the only one! How did you do on your quant for the GRE? I'm in the middle 50% for SAIS but above for the verbal and GPA by a significant amount so I feel a little better about it...but I know it's important for funding. I don't have a ton of math on my transcript--just statistics and finite--but I took my two econ courses this fall with As in both so I'm hoping that overcomes some shortcomings there...
  17. I feel ya. I think I have a decent chance of being accepted, but I'm not sure about the funding so I'm trying not to get my hopes up. If I don't receive any funding there is no way I could go (barring winning the lottery...maybe I should start playing?) so I'm trying to be cautiously optimistic. I have already gotten into Korbel with money so I feel a little less anxious about the DC schools I applied to
  18. I applied for the MA program with my concentration being IDEV! I know that concentration is difficult to get into so I also expressed interest in their Latin American studies concentration, which I've heard is also really good. Originally I was a little intimidated by SAIS and its emphasis on econ, but the more research I do the more I am attracted to essentially being "forced" to do some math. I know that once I have gone through the courses I'll be thankful to have those skills. We'll see! I don't have as much experience as others, probably only about two and a half years put together, but I think it's solid experience and am very eager to hear from SAIS!
  19. @ZebraFinch, where all did you apply this year?
  20. Nothing from GW. I think SAIS is releasing decisions this Friday (according to their graduate admissions blog).
  21. Can anyone who has been accepted (past or present) comment on endowed scholarships? Are they offered at the time of acceptance (along with merit aid) or are they doled out separately, with other financial aid info (loans, work study, etc.)?
  22. If I remember from my information session with MSFS, we were told that a percentage of the top applicants (maybe it was the top 1/3) got half tuition scholarships. Did anyone hear this? And does anyone know how the ranking process works?
  23. So you haven't heard back from them? I received my admission notification on Friday. Maybe it's a separate admissions process?
  24. I applied to the MSFS program because I like its focus on teaching practical skills that will translate to my professional life. I am also impressed by the career services and general community there, as well as the fact that it's Georgetown and well, they're the best at this whole IR thing. I don't have as much professional experience as many applicants so I am not holding my breath, but I think those that I do have, along with academic achievement, give me at least a shot. As much as I'd love to go, though, I am very wary of the high price tag.
