I'm trying to be calm about it all, but I only last a few days (or hours). When I checked the results last week on the timing of letters last year (for IA) the following dates popped up: May 4, 2009 March 20, 2009 March 31, 2008 March 25, 2008 March 21, 2008 So...I'm thinking that next week might be it, but that one entry for May isn't making me happy. It's one thing to be posting in the "April is it!!" topic, but I don't want to be hanging out in "Holy shit May is it!!" topic.

Nothing for me today...maybe next week will be my week. Or the week after...

Still no mail for me...maybe one of us that is still waiting will hear something this weekend...maybe next week? Sigh.

I'm starting to think clipping $100 to an application with a note saying "Can you call/email me when you get to mine?" might have been a good idea.

Sigh. I thought spring break for them was two weeks ago...apparently I need to pay closer attention. Thanks for checking on them (admissions) for us! Two more New School postings in the results, so someone is getting mail from them.

Formal Engagement

First I thought I had no mail at all yesterday...drove around the block to see if I could find the postman, nope. Later than night when I got home there was a lot of mail, but still nothing. Today? Nothing. Now the question is: starting next week, can I calm down enough to stop driving home at lunch?

love it! I calmed down just before March 10th and then I got hyper again. I'm finally calming down a little bit, but still checking my email when I see that there is one unread message. My productivity sucks...watching tv, reading...I find myself daydreaming about the "what ifs". Hopefully the wait will be over sooner than later for all of us!

I love your FedEx conversation! I think I'll keep that one in my back pocket as a last resort phone call to make. Yesterday I calmed down a little (not much) and today I feel a little more calm while playing the waiting game. I think I've just been feeling tired and drained from worrying about it...now I need to get back to worrying about work and the paper I am presenting next week (that isn't finished yet). With that stuff to worry about, maybe I can "chill out" for a few more days.

I just want to sneak in really quick to say thank you for posting your stats. I wanted to apply to the same programs you applied to, but since I'm in career change mode I knew my work experience wouldn't count for too much. Congrats on the acceptances, that's just fabulous you have a great selection to choose form!

I was able to find some stuff in the results search...one entry for 2009 and two for 2008: March 20, 2009 March 20, 2008 March 12, 2008 I hope that helps alleviate a little nervousness for you!

I did that Monday...and somehow I turned into a 5 year old hiding behind a parent scared to show my face -via the phone. I called the right University, the right school and spoke with grad admissions, but I didn't ask about my program. I just asked if they were sending letters this month or next month. For some reason I felt like a idiot for calling and didn't want to hang up on the person once they picked up the phone. When I hung up I just looked at the wall and said "What the hell was that?" Apparently this whole process has really messed up the wiring in my head.

I thought I asked before, but I think I asked out loud rather than typing it (I'm smart). Do most schools have a deadline of April 15th for just PhD programs or MA/MS/PhD? Just curious about the date...I feel like I should know, but somehow I missed the importance. Besides, I figured everyone wasn't fired up for Tax Day, so it had to be something else

I see a few more results popping up from yesterday afternoon and today. Congrats to those that received acceptances!

Thanks for the input! From the website (NSSR) I got the impression that it's just about the application components...I'm just grasping at straws. When I see that last year someone from the IA program got a letter in May, I want to scream. It says my application was submitted 2 days before the deadline, but the transcripts were entered 3 days late. So I have a feeling I'll be getting a letter towards the end of the pack. If all of us end up at NSSR can we have a group hug?

Wasted Energy

Hi there Psych majors! Yesterday I saw that someone posted in the results they were accepted to The New School...I was just trying to find them on the boards via major...hoping they might be a forum poster as well. A few of us are waiting from various programs at The New School and we're curious about their website and if it changes when an application has been accepted/rejected. If you know someone that was accepted/rejected, would you be so kind as to ask them to PM me or post in the "Waiting for NSSR" topic (under Waiting I Out)? Thank you so much!! Looks like a few people posted in the results about the MA Philosophy program...did you hear back yet? (A lot of us are waiting on the New School still from various programs )
