  1. I applied to 4 schools, didn't hear from them for the month of Jan. I did email the admission for one of the schools they said it hasn't been reviewed yet (fingers crossed) but Implied rejections for allll~!! lol
  2. @doctormelody @sgaw10 thanks guys! I hope to feel better soon but I know for a fact that more news will come this week and none will be good for me!
  3. I don't think I will be getting into any PhD program. I am not as good as I think I am. I am currently looking for jobs / possible online courses to help me with my future career. Will not be considering PhD anymore.
  4. Hello~ As the wait continues, I am 80% sure that I won't be getting into any grad schools that I applied this season. So I will be lookin for a full time job maybe in February. I actually do not wish to re-apply anymore, as this is the 4th application cycle for me. I do not want to take GRE anymore as well. I know there are many schools now that are accepting applications without GRE but the schools that I wish to get into, where their research is a perfect fit for me, requires GRE. I am feeling dejected now since it feels like what I have done the past 8 years (all the research and a master degree) would not amount to the shitty undergrad GPA and GRE that I have. My question is, do you think taking online courses on some programs that I think I"m lacking, such as some engineering introduction classes (I"m a chemistry major with a biotech master) will help with my applications in the future? I believe I have shown that I have the resolve to stay in the research industry since in my SOP I've mentioned the work I've done over the past 8 years. I was a chem major, but I wanted to switch to more biomaterials/ biology so I've tried my best looking for opportunities (research for Masters, and internship) to what I wanted to do. I do believe the fact that I am lacking engineering classes is one of the biggest factor that I was not able to get into BME school, aside from shitty GRE and undergrad GPA. My master GPA is as good as it can be (>3.8/4.0) I am planning to take online courses, and get online certification. I want to show that I am indeed interested in this area of research and wish they would give me a chance. What do you think?
  5. I think this means I should be expecting rejections from MIT sometime soon T_T
  6. I think it is quite important. I have great credential (I'd like to think) but I think GRE is bringing me down and not to be considered. I am not sure if this round of application will be the last one for me cause I don't think I want to go through another GRE test taking anymore.
  7. I have to agree with you.. I am also getting discourage from it.. Yesterday I have started job search! Even though it's still too early! I'd wait, but have low expectation. Have plan B, have fun, hobbies - I'm gonna start Game of Thrones soon (again) just in time for the season finale!! Good luck to all of us waiting. I'll still check on this forum periodically, I'm trying to get away from feeling depress, which is definitely easier said than done!
  8. ME TOO!!! ME TOO!! I hope to hear back very soon.. I'll probably give up after January though.. This impostor syndrome of mine is getting out of hand soon.
  9. we did have before and after. But the judge did not even bother to look at my pictures that I provided, sadly. i believe that this won't be the first time they did this as well. The judge also believed that he sent the deposit "within" the time frame. which obviously he didnt..
  10. Another one I need to vent.. My life is not going really well I guess. I need some "good news" to counter my bad. Last August we moved out of the house with bad landlord. He then did not send us a deposit (that's required) within 20 days. We contacted him and no response. It seemed like the judge favor him. (I just got back from court today) We did not get full deposit either, just $352 out of $1275 because of the "roach infestation" that happened in a 3-storey house and the judge bought it. My partner and I were both working adults, we dont go on the walls and draw on them but the landlord claimed that the wall has to be "cleaned" and "repainted" to be rented to other people We have never had this problem before and this is what happened on the first place we rent in RI... Upsetting. I can't sue back now since the judge ruled in favor of the landlord. I got $352..
  11. You applied to a school in a city you don't want to live in? I"m sorry you're going through this. I hope you will get another job soon. Although, being busy is one good way to keep yourself off this forum (and results pouring in once in a while) you won't have time to check on your email and so forth. Either way, I hope everything will turn out the way you want it to be very soon!
  12. I know we have technically 3 months left for decisions / deadlines, at least 1 month give or take before the schools send out all the invitations for interviews / offers. It is still kinda depressing to think "Ok, I'm not their first choice" after the first few waves of invitations starting beginning of this month.
