  1. What were your GRE scores, if I may ask? I have about two months to study and plan on taking neuroanatomy this fall so idk if I will do well in it. I don't plan on applying to uber-competitive programs so I am hoping my GPA will compensate for less than stellar GRE scores.
  2. Sometimes we'd get paid 150 if the district had common core training so it's not a bad gig at all. You'd clock out at 2:30-3:15 depending on the school site.
  3. I'm a substitute teacher. Pays way more than being a Para and I've subbed for SPED and Intervention classes. All you need is 90 units or a degree, LOR, CBEST, and TB to work as one. Going rates in my area are 125 a day. I'd take my classwork when I subbed for Honors/AP classes since there is nothing to do. Im near Fresno, CA so it may be different if you're OOS.
  4. I am hoping to apply to these schools: University of South Dakota, Eastern New Mexico University, Truman State, Fresno State, Fort Hays State, University of Central Arkansas, Idaho State University, University of Central Oklahoma. California is very competitive so I am hoping I can get into Fresno or I will have to go out-of-state. How many months did you study for the GRE? What resourrces did you use? magoosh?
  5. 454 is alright. I got an A thankfully! I ordered the online version of the textbook which helped me a lot. Damn, I had issues with Dr. Wilkerson and the TA since they thought I resubmitted a paper so I am hesitant to ask him. Which schools did you apply to?
  6. Hi, I just finished the spring semester with a 4.0 (454 and 434 were rough) but who wrote your LOR's if I may ask? I am for sure going to ask Dr. Hall since I took two classes with her but idk who else to ask. Thanks in advance.
  7. That's great! I didn't know that. I can add another program or two to my list now
  8. Did you have certification to be an SLPA prior to accepting the job in Arizona? or simply had your CDIS/COMD degree and applied? I am in California and it is pretty restrictive here.
  9. I shall. Thanks for your input. I really appreciate it
  10. I will heed your advice regarding the interviews. I was more worried about being caught off-guard regarding a hypothetical case with a kid who has a phonological/morphological or any type of disorder/impairment since I would most likely mess up with that. That's good to know since all I have are the 25 observational hours but don't have NSLLHA experience, research experience, etc. compared to other applicants on GradCafe. Your 3 letter writers were fine writing to 6+ schools? I am afraid of annoying them if I asked if they can write LORs for 8-9 programs...
  11. Some days are good and some are bad. The pay around here is 125-135 a day so it pays far more than being an ABA tutor which is about ~12-15 an hour. There's not many jobs available during the last month of school so I was able to study for finals and work on projects too. Have you taken the GRE already or a practice exam? That's the only thing that is worrisome for me.
  12. EWU does have a higher acceptance rate than UW does, that is for sure. I'm sorry about your rejections, though :/. I think my interview skills are good but I wonder if they'll throw case studies at you to see how knowledgeable you are? or how did the interview with EWU go down? Your stats seem great. I do not have any related experience, other than substitute teaching some SDC classes. Did you have three letter writers for the schools you applied for? or did you have more writers?
  13. I work as a substitute teacher as it gives me the flexibility to take days off to focus on assignments. I am thinking of working as an ABA once summer arrives though to pad my resume. Tuition is my main factor. There are schools like Appalachian State, UCF, Valdosta State, Alabama A&M, etc. that have high acceptance rates but ridiculous OOS tuition fees for students outside of their region.
  14. The only WA schools that offer WRGP in-state tuition are EWU and UW which are very competitive :/ What schools were you rejected and/or waitlisted at? I dont want to apply to schools that I wont even get waitlisted at, just to save money and time.
  15. I selected an online program as it was less expensive and worked with my job schedule. I'll be taking 15 units this semester so it's going to be quite hectic for me. I'm hoping to get into one of the schools in my signature. I don't have anything limiting my options, such as a family or a relationship, so I am able to leave to USD, UCA, etc. quite easily. wbu?
  16. Have you considered online options? ENMU has a leveling and 2nd bachelors degree option. USU has a 2nd bachelors degree program for SLP hopefuls. ENMU was the cheaper option between the two so I left USU as it was getting a little too expensive for me. I believe it is ~250 a unit at ENMU so about 750 a course if you are listed as a leveler. Dr. Swift is really supportive as well. Northridge also has an online post-bacc program I believe. Hope you get into both LA and Fullerton. Best of luck
  17. @Crimson Wife Unfortunately, it isn't on the list. The ones that are under WGRP and that I might have a chance of getting into are Idaho State or USU. Which schools are you applying to if I may ask? I'm mostly applying to schools with reasonable OOS tuition and higher-than-average acceptance rates.
  18. What other school did you get into? @jessie_lee Im doing my pre-reqs at ENMU and have considered NAU but am a California resident so it would be rather expensive.
