how often do you update your letter writers of acceptances/rejections?
-
how do you know UNC is done? I assumed they were based on the number of acceptances on the results page, but I have no actual intel.
-
weekends are time to relax and forget that grad admissions exist.
-
I don't think there is one better option. It is going to depend on your own learning preferences, lifestyle, and overall research interests and goals. I'm more worried about cohort effects than size of a program. And I don't know how to discern what my cohort will be like during visitation.
-
Unless numerous admits are also admitted to Stanford/Harvard then the wait will be long.
-
I don't see a waitlist at any school budging until after visitations and closer to April 15th.
-
the trolls this year are bad. Remember UT Austin (real results came out a week later)? Very elaborate.
-
Good Luck!

No idea where you got those numbers from, but they are wrong. I'm sure the smaller programs are around that number. Princeton does not have a small program. I would say that 5-7 per subfield is about normal. This varies year to year.
-
Stanford could be this week. They've announced this early before. Also, a lot of the schools UCLA, UCSD, Princeton, are notifying earlier than they did last year. Everything is fair game now.
-
bumping this thread. I imagine the stipend has increased at all programs discussed here (hopefully).
-
do you think we are done with rejections (excluding those posting results late)?
-
are UCSD rejections still rolling out or people just posting them as they wake up?
-
Mostly this.
-
From the results page, it could potentially mean that acceptances will be out tomorrow (or soonish) and all UCSD decisions will be out or a 2014 cycle patten will be followed (rejections sent, then acceptances, then more rejections).
-
thanks for claiming the rejection so we know it isn't a troll.
-
think it is a troll. NYU and Princeton Trolls: I hate you.
-
I will accept a waitlist at this point. I just want something!
-
They are one of the schools that interviews applicants (GWU style).
-
Stanford said official. However, they would accept unofficial transcripts for review purposes. If you are accepted, then you really must send in official ones. If you did not get an email from the grad secretary, do not worry about it.
-
Interesting. Thanks for the info. My official ones are sent in and it says that on the checklist portion.
-
Yes, I did.
-
great. thanks.
