  1. Rejection Trolls get my hopes up because there is a chance of a waitlist! At least the latest troll used the official name "Leland Stanford Junior University" *edited to correct error.
  2. Which is worse: Acceptance troll or Rejection troll? Berkeley rejection post true?
  3. definitely meeting by now, but I don't buy a single UCB acceptance a few weeks early. Went through old threads. It is not unusual for UNC and Georgetown acceptances to trickle out. Completely unusual for Berkeley. Though it is possible because they may have changed how admissions are done.
  4. Add Berkeley to that!
  5. I really doubt a month early. A very elaborate troll. An actual offer with funding from the graduate school? Earliest result for this dept. was end of January.
  6. I'm guessing trolls for Princeton and UNC.
  7. But there is only 1 post. I would not count yourself out quite yet!
  8. looks like one is out (at least). So glad I didn't apply there. The anxiety of waiting for an interview email would have killed me. Good Luck!
  9. From previous cycles, looks like OSU, Emory, and GWU may be fair game.
  10. I was told that it does not hurt or help. Some will respond and some will not. Do not read it any sort of response you get. If you emailed them before and they responded, I see nothing wrong with you following up. If they respond rudely, that says more about them than you.
  11. thanks for the clarification!
  12. Princeton probably has the same system as Columbia. You upload an updated one, but the old one remains, so the adcoms can look at it if they wish (I believe).
  13. I was calm yesterday, but now realizing that the holidays are literally a few days away...this means complete silence from programs. And silence is nerve-wracking.
  14. This made me feel better. I know it isn't a deciding factor, but after hours/weeks of staring at something, I wish I had found it before submitting all of my apps!
  15. just found a typo in my writing sample.
  16. It is not an "absolute" requirement. They will review them even if they are not received the official ones as they have the unofficial ones. Mine cost a similar amount and they have yet to be received, but I know from experience that the transcript office on campus is notoriously bad. I'm completely stressing about the programs that didn't ask for unofficial transcripts.
  17. Don't mean to be this person, but some of the schools I applied to asked for both. All of mine asked for official scores.
  18. At programs that have a high number of applicants? Doubt it. Sectaries have to organize all of our files and I imagine that getting a group of academics together can be difficult... I'm guessing, but I think at most we can expect maybe a first cut for schools that had their apps due early December. I don't see how the others will get much done before the 25th.
  19. If you mean the applications themselves, your credit card is your best friend.
  20. scanned copies of what? transcripts? I just uploaded mine to the application website...
  21. and I think it is best to ask questions post admittance.
  22. Which schools still do interviews? Do WashU, Emory, and OSU?
  23. I was told the most important things are the SoP and WHO the letters are from. Coming from a LAC the latter is a tad disappointing for me.
  24. Usually no. It varies by program. Sure they may accept an updated CV , but I don't expect much else.
