  1. I just heard from my friend in one of these programs that the admission comittee only gave 3 offers, and all of these 3 candidates have accpeted the offers, which means I have no chance to getting admission. And I think the other program is the same situation... Feel very frustrated... This is my second time application.. The results of this time is almost the same as last time... Although I have several offers, I think I will continue my gap year to do research assistant... Or I will quit research to do something else. Hope you will hear good news from your dream schools.
  2. You also applied for the Quantitative Biomedicine and Biomedical sciences programs? what a coincidence!
  3. Yes, you're right. I emailed them last friday and both of these programs have put me onto the waitlists. Hope someone will give up offers from these two programs.
  4. Anyone applied for the Ph.D program in Rutgers medical school in Newark? Have you get any notifications from them? I took part in the on-site interview on 23th Feb. After the interview I haven't get any notifications till now. So I wonder if anyone applied that program? BTW, I also applied for a new program named "Quantitative Biomedicine" in Rutgers. I went to visit the school at the end of Feburary and like the program above, I haven't received any emails from them. Did anyone also applied this program?
  5. I have received 4 interviews: both of the two programs in Rutgers, GST in U Tennessee and Biomedical informatics in Medical university in South Carolina. But There are still no any notifications from Stony brook and UIC. I have emailed them but no response. I guess I have been rejected by these two prorams.
  6. I totally applied 5 Ph.D. programs: 1. UIC - bioinformatics 2. U Tennessee - Genome Science & Technology 3. Rutgers - Biomedical Science (Biomedical Engineering)/Quantitative Biomedicine 4. Clemson & Medical University of South Carolina - Biomedical Data Science and Informatics 5. SUNY Stony Brook - Biomedical Informatics I submitted all my application before Christmas Day and ETS sent my test scores at the beginning of Jan. But till now I haven't received any interview invitations yet. So I'm pretty worried. Anyone applied these programs? Have you received any notifications from them?
  7. Hi everyone. I am a Chinese student. I failed in this year's Ph.D. application. However, I found there are several postgraduate associate positions in Yale. But I have very limitted information about those positions. So I wonder if someone applied for those positions before or is preparing for them now?
  8. Is there any international student who applied for the bioinformatics PHD program in UGA and NCSU? I have submitted my application about 1-2 weeks ago but I still don't get any emails for interview. I'm a little bit worried now. Has anyone received the interview invitation already?
  9. well, I think you should improve your GRE and TOEFL test scores first. Because the admission requirements of the institutes you applied are pretty strict. Also if possible, I think you could try to publish some scientific papers to improve your chance to getting admitted.
  10. Hello everyone. I'm a Chinese student who just got BS degree in bioengineering this summer. I want to pursue my Ph.D degree in the USA. However, My undergraduate GPA is pretty low. it's just 2.7. But I have several publications: 1). Two first-author SCI publications(impact factor are 3.07 and 4.99). 2). One co-author top computer conference paper(which has been selected as the 2016 AMIA TBI student paper award). 3). One first-author SCI paper in progress (with high possibility to be accepted by journals with IF 2~3). I have asked someone in my country. They suggested me to take MS course first. But due to high tuition fee, I prefer to applying for Ph.D program directly. I have some dream schools in my mind, such as UCSD, oregon state, u of Colorado-boulder, UGA, UT-houston and so on. So I wonder if I have the possibility to be admitted by my dream universities? or at least, by any top 200 universities in the America?
