Haha I know it's foolish to lose hope now, but looking at the schools I applied to and I really need a heavy dose of luck to have an interview. I apologize if I spread any negativity tho. Like I said it's my way of staying sane.- 426 replies

People without interviews!! Thanks for responding to my post! Honestly, I am slowly dying from the inside. I wish best luck to you all and I am pretty sure we are all very qualified to go to a Phd program but just not have the chance yet. I have terrible gpa (and not for any personal reason) and I thought two years of undergrad research( at two different labs) and two years working as RA with first author publication in prep would dig me out of the hole. I was hoping by this time I would have at least one interview. I guess I was wrong. (Also made the mistake of applying only to high end schools) I am not sure where I am going with this but just want to put out my frustration somewhere so I can stay sane. Those of you with interviews already, congrats!! I hope you get into your dream school!- 426 replies

I am leaning toward not correcting it. My reason is as you said, I don't want to bring attention to the mistake. I did talk about that research experience in my statement and the amount of time I did research can be reflected on my transcript since I did it for credits. I think your mistake is even less noticeable. Unlike my application, which has contradicting info, I doubt adcomm have the time to look up publications from each applicant let alone finding out the year on CV does not correspond to the actual paper online.
-
Here are the comments I got when I discovered mistakes in my CV as well.
-
I know exactly how you feel...
-
Thanks everyone for reassuring me that I am not doomed!
-
How detrimental is it that I mis-typed one of my research experience on my CV was from 06/2013- 12/2014 to 06/2014-12/2014 some of the apps also had a experience section, in which I entered the dates correctly. Is it worse that they can see this difference or the loss of almost a year of experience on paper?
-
Thanks!! I was at the gym and saw your post and with all the adrenaline I was able to press a lot harder lol
-
Congrats!! Does anyone know if they do batches or this is it. In panic mode now
-
saving moneys from my research job to travel too. If i don't get in, I will just try again next year and potentially have even more money to travel! (but actually some place please accept me)
-
thank you and congrats! now I am not sure if I should worry or not...
-
do you mind telling me when you submit? I am just trying to get a sense of how they are processing apps, like random or in chronological order.
-
also waiting to hear from them. From what I know the committee meets every monday so only review in smaller batches and send out invitation on rolling basis (from their website). I am thinking that ppl have got interviews submitted apps early. When did you all submitted? I did mine on 11/28.
-
if you check past record it should come out around next two weeks. I saw that Harvard neuro adcom is meeting on 12/14 and got the email from hopkins that they will send out invites on 12/19-20. I did noy apply to any other schools you listed tho.
