  1. www.leoserpens.com *Currently lacking my film photographs.
  2. @chikapea They sent out an e-mail this morning and the interview was via phone on the 8th. I'm pretty sure that the interviews were broken up by department, I interviewed with a photography faculty member. / Thank you! @meghanmetier Thanks so much! I can't stop smiling. Hoping for similar news to start piling up on here for everyone!
  3. Just did an embarrassing happy dance around the room--I got accepted to OSU!!!
  4. Also applied there. As far as I know, nothings happened there yet. Fingers crossed for you.
  5. Today I got an interview invite for Ohio State and a rejection from the UMN (According their e-mail, they only accepted 6 applicants this year!) :] Really excited about Ohio. Interview is via phone on the 8th!
  6. Thanks for replying, everyone. I guess I'll stick to topics as it relates to my art/practice. I appreciate the insight. And @meghanmetier all the positive vibes your way! Sounds like a complicated and exhausting year.
  7. Against my better judgement--or at least my wallet's...--I have committed to attending my PennDesign interview in person. Gulp. XD Preference for the 13th. If anyone wants to meet up for a coffee or beer, let me know.
  8. Thanks for re-surfacing this list, Turnip. It is both daunting and helpful. XD Does anyone have any tips for common mistakes made during interviews/topics to avoid? For example, not necessarily relating to me: things about significant others, politics, personal experiences with mental illness? I imagine that should these things pertain directly to your practice, it would be welcome. But...what if the connection is more indirect? Perhaps a silly question of which the answer could easily be--if you're not sure and it doesn't directly relate, avoid it. But thought it could be a helpful point of discussion. Thoughts?
  9. So good to hear! I am debating on whether or not to make the drive. It would be 18 hours there and back, which is a fair amount of driving...if you're in Detroit, I imagine you would be expecting something similar. (Made the drive once when I lived there, actually. XD) Hmm. Haha.
  10. I got e-mailed to interview with PennDesign! Anyone else? It's beyond relieving to know that at least one university has seen potential in my work. Been excited about others chiming in with similar news! Congrats so far everyone.
  11. Perhaps you would get better responses if you started your own thread for this? I personally know nothing about Post Bac. programs. Good luck, though! Totally had a similar experience with him! His e-mails came across as rude...I had pegged it off as him perhaps not coming through well via e-mail. But...unfortunately that's not the case. Hahah.
  12. I feel similarly. Finding it challenging to make work at the moment, but it comes and goes. Winter can get like that for me. :/ Also, feeling the e-mail anxiety. Haha. I don't think I've ever checked my e-mail this much.
  13. I think I figured it out...but, there was not new info uncovered. :]
  14. Doesn't seem to be revealing anything. I will let you know if I end up figuring it out. Haha.
  15. Not super sure that this is anything, as google analytics and I aren't super well acquainted...BUT I did get 9 hits from LA recently (The 17th)...which could mean UCLA? The server was Steelhouse Inc if that means anything? If anyone wants to clarify this, that would be great. Trying not to get my hopes up.
  16. No worries. Thanks so much. I think New Mexico had something as well--I didn't end up applying though. Thanks for the suggestion!
  17. In my opinion, it's better to do it earlier--I've already sent some. But that's just me. I hand made some cards and incorporated scraps and "pieces"/scraps of photos that I have been recently working on, including a thoughtful note in each one. I am curious as to what other people did, too. :]
  18. @sylviecerise Glad that you go it sorted out! Trying to get both UCI and UW sent out today. XD
  19. @sylviecerise I'm curious what they'll tell you. I have already submitted my app and didn't know of any problems, but I could have missed it. The thumbnails of all my images were blurry before submitting, but clicking on them revealed photos that were not distorted. Perhaps try checking in a different browser? I hope you can get it figured out.
  20. In terms of how many, really up to you. If you can afford it, I can only imagine more applications being a positive thing. Assuming that quality of app. isn't lowered because you are focusing on a greater amount. :]
  21. Jan Estep ( http://www.janestep.com/?page_id=6 ) at the UMN fits especially into body and mind duality. She has a project using brain scans which seems relatable to your study of medical MRI scans and she has some other projects that seem to fit the bill in terms of mental health, etc. I would definitely check her out. :]
  22. Elefarif, both of those programs seem incredible! Thanks for sharing. I don't think that a low-res option is right for me at the moment, so I won't be applying, but happy to have perused those links nonetheless.
  23. I know you said east coast, but I recently came across UNM's MFA and they actually have a focus in "Art & Ecology" (http://art.unm.edu/art-ecology/) that may be worth checking out. Good luck in your search!
