Congratulations! Did you receive any info on its funding? (Already thinking about picking programs for next cycle lmao)
Thanks! No info on funding yet, they said that information will come later. From what I've read in past forums and from other students, funding isn't guaranteed but it's rare that a student doesn't get funding. I knew this going in and was fine with it since the research fit was perfect for me.

Finally heard back and got in at UNC Epi!! So excited and will definitely be going there.

Hey! I was accepted to the Epidemiology PhD program also a few months ago. I applied for the Austin campus because i was hoping to work with a specific advisor there. However, in the emails they sent, I was assigned a different advisor. I think I'm hesitant because it is a satellite campus. I would also like to hear other peoples thoughts on UT Health since I would love to be in Austin but I'm not confident that I will accept the offer. I also reached out to someone on reddit and this is what they said:
Ok, so UT is kind of weird in that it's not a traditional funding situation. You can very easily get a GRA/TA position, but you will still be required to pay tuition/fees; there is no tuition waiver. If you get one of those positions or a scholarship, you'll qualify for in state tuition which is very affordable. Your advisor is definitely the person to start talking to about that, I would recommend reaching out to student services to ask who is your assigned advisor. Note that it will be your academic advisor to start, you don't have to do your dissertation with that person. Some students do struggle with funding as it can change semester to semester

Hi everyone!
Just wanted to know if anyone is still waiting to hear back from UNC's Epidemiology PhD. I think the waiting is starting to get to me. I've seen a handful of people on here have gotten accepted though so congrats to y'all!!
This is the last program I'm waiting to hear from and it's been incredibly difficult. I have no idea if i should start looking for jobs or what..

One of them was mine! I think last year it was definitely a trickle -- there were acceptances starting in Jan and going through March, I think (you could look back at the results page for last year). So I wouldn't be concerned if you haven't heard, especially considering there are only 3 acceptances posted and I think they take a relatively large cohort.
As a side note, there was no funding information included in the letter. It said those decisions are made separately and we will be contacted if we receive funding.
Congrats!!
That's true - just getting very anxious since it's my top choice and yeah, I've heard funding at UNC is tricky but still very interested!

Hi everyone!
I saw a few acceptances from UNC Epi on the results page. Has anyone heard back? I was wondering if you all knew if these come out in waves or all at once? Thanks!

Accepted at Harvard PHS in EH today and Michigan Epidemiology yesterday!! Crashing now from the adrenaline high after seeing the Harvard email! So happy to be getting celebration pizza tonight ?
I also have the same message on the Columbia portal (EHS) but agree it's probably a glitch? A mean one though! I didn't have an interview with them and also have not heard anything since I submitted my app.
Also, anyone in Harvard PHS get word about their advisor?
Congrats!! That's so exciting!
Do you know if Michigan Epi sends acceptances all at once? Haven't heard back after interviewing a few weeks ago.

Hi! Has anyone heard anything from Yale's PhD in Chronic Disease Epi? It looks like from years past interviews have been released around this time!
Also waiting to hear back from them! I'm sure everything will come out later than in previous years.

Congrats to those who already interviewed or got interview invitations, and also best wishes to those haven’t heard back from any program yet like me!
I become anxious these days and gradually lost my confidence in this application cycle ?
Did anyone heard back from BU EPI and Emory EPI yet? I know that Emory’s virtual visit day is coming but am still clueless about BU.?
I got an email two days ago for an Emory EPI visit day invite. Haven't heard about BU EPI but from previous years looks like interview invites begin late january/early feb.

Has anyone heard from UNC PhD in epi program ? Does anyone if they conduct interviews?
Also applied and haven't heard back. From previous years, it looks like they don't conduct interviews and send out decisions late February.

I just emailed the admission office of Brown (Epi). They told me that the admissions committee have decided to invite a certain number of applicants to participate in their upcoming Recruitment Day days ago. Applicants without any notifications would not be considered any further. So sad. Good luck to those picked ones! Let's look forward to other programs.
That's sad to hear since I haven't heard back. I don't get why we cant just be notified with a rejection.
