  1. I know no one replied to you, but now that you have visited, what do you think? Look forward to hearing it.
  2. You never signed anything - student OFTEN change their minds and they will be understanding.
  3. Where have you decided ? How exciting.
  4. I am definitely under the impression that schools tend to offer you a place as soon as they have a space for you (they get to your name of the list because of rejections, etc). They are obviously motivated to offer places to all those that they can and if you're next they'll let you know. It's not uncommon for people to hear a week or even days before the April 15th deadline that they're offered a place, it is just how the process works. If you've been waitlisted, it depends on the institution how likely it is you'll get in off the list and how many students that year decline their offers. I can almost promise you that if you contact anyone, the answer will be that they still don't have a place and will contact you if they do. I'm waiting for 3 waitlists now, and there hasn't been a peep since I was informed. *cheers* here's to the waitlist life!
  5. I'm laughing that still no one has posted here At least for me, I'm still waiting on finalized funding packages and notifications from my 3 waitlists. I'm sure other people are still just deciding as well!
  6. I know that University of Utah is the 24th or something, and they had a late application deadline (Feb 1). I can't imagine many schools have dates after this week, though.
  7. this happened for two schools which I contacted and only then received notice of waitlist. I would say by now you should have had a response and it's fine to call/email.
  8. Only one I see on the results board is an acceptance from Jan 12, which is very early... hopefully some one here knows something!
  9. I received the same email today, it feels like an achievement just being waitlisted (it was my 'reach' school)!
  10. I thinkkkk you could always claim the acceptance and if something better comes through go back and turn it down. It's unfair to you what they're asking so
  11. hahahahah no but share them with me if you come up with any!
  12. I wanted to leave this here for @mayyam and @AmityDuPeuple: '...Council of Graduate Schools and supports their "April 15 Resolution," which outlines the obligations of graduate institutions and prospective graduate students regarding offers and acceptances of financial support. The resolution reads: Acceptance of an offer of financial support* (such as a graduate scholarship, fellowship, traineeship, or assistantship) for the next academic year by a prospective or enrolled graduate student completes an agreement that both student and graduate school expect to honor. In that context, the conditions affecting such offers and their acceptance must be defined carefully and understood by all parties. Students are under no obligation to respond to offers of financial support prior to April 15; earlier deadlines for acceptance of such offers violate the intent of this Resolution. In those instances in which a student accepts an offer before April 15, and subsequently desires to withdraw that acceptance, the student may submit in writing a resignation of the appointment at any time through April 15. However, an acceptance given or left in force after April 15 commits the student not to accept another offer without first obtaining a written release from the institution to which a commitment has been made. Similarly, an offer by an institution after April 15 is conditional on presentation by the student of the written release from any previously accepted offer. It is further agreed by the institutions and organizations subscribing to the above Resolution that a copy of this Resolution or a link to the URL should accompany every scholarship, fellowship, traineeship, and assistantship offer. ' Obviously Montreal is not a part of this, but if you still need to talk with them that may help!
  13. Here's a link to the PDF - I've seen the one they were talking about before. https://www.coloradocollege.edu/dotAsset/be00c34c-5b8c-4097-97b9-4855574b8a3b.pdf
  14. I've felt that a few times and shot the DGS an email or called them, and they're usually happy to tell me the status (or to just say they haven't made any decisions yet, which I know is a lie...). However, on the results board NO denials for U of Chicago have gone out, so you may just need to wait it out.
  15. I think the results page is back up and working if all those who posted today want to add them on!
  16. I was impatient so I emailed Jennifer Sherman and she graciously let me know! She said "The admissions committee has made the first round of offers, and are waiting for responses from this group currently." And that I am 'high' on the list. I can send you the emails if you'd like!
  17. @Worktime Calzone , I emailed Julie Bettie (Graduate Chair) of UCSC for a status update and received a rejection email within the hour from the Department of Graduate Studies. I doubt they went out as a batch, but check your email or maybe contact her? All the best luck!
  18. Funnily I am waiting on Santa Cruz as well and was accepted to New Mexico. Would love to hear pros and cons as well if anyone has heard!
  19. Congrats! however, I think the Social Work forum might be able to give you the many more congrats which are in order, as this is for Sociology.
  20. I hope funding comes through! based on this page, http://www.phdstipends.com/results, it looks like it has been around $19k in the past which is quite low for the DC area I believe. Hopefully there's been improvement since 2014!
  21. Exactly! I'm glad I could help, I'm in the same situation waiting for news on funding from New Mexico, but from what I've seen its often done backwards as well. Good luck!
  22. In my experience so far its common to accept you with funding pending, so they can let you know ASAP that they want you and then they process and the funding etc. Other schools wait until funding info and then accept you. It just depends.
  23. As today seems to me very slow in terms of sociology acceptances, I'm guessing tomorrow will be an avalanche! I can hope so at least congrats to all the new acceptances yesterday and today!
  24. I just googled it and it looks like that is hosted by the dept of social work so yeah I think it's a completely separate admissions process but I may be mistaken
  25. I like to think about it as if they're working round the clock and throughout the weekends because we're all SUCH good candidates this year!
