    Yes, that is very much what I also did not do. Wish I had read you before Poodle Doodle. But seems like you also figured it out afterwards. But what I did do before was applying for residencies that had deadlines due December so I would start warming up for the application season in January.

    Hello hello interview thread, good luck to everyone having interviews! Anyone doing it for Columbia MFA New Genres? I got the email yesterday and am now trying to know what their interviews are usually like? Do they expect me to bring new work that was not in the portfolio, what do you think?

    Ok, thank you for the info! Do you know how many they interview? Will spend my last pennies with flying over there for the interview. But since I have been applying for a few years, it is worth it going in person.

    Hello everyone I finally got a name to comment here. Thank god this forum exists, it is a very helpful anxiety relieving place to be. Yesterday I received an email invitation for interview at Columbia for the 3rd March. I applied for New Genres but it said Moving Image/New Genres on their way of mentioning the program I applied for. Thought it would be good to share it here. Has anyone else here also applied for New Genres?
