this wasn't even my thread but as someone who just got rejected from all the phd programs she applied to, and is holding out hope to be accepted to the one MA english program !!) this offers me a lot of comfort! such a supportive and kind community, gosh.

that's fair! perhaps she was speaking more to the specific english/women's studies program, as that is the actual program she is the coordinator of?? she didn't seem to have much knowledge about other areas of the department, really.

omfg i just got off the phone with the graduate coordinator at U Michigan and apparently each different type of English PhD program sends out their results at different times?? I applied for the joint PhD in English and Gender Studies and she told me she'll hopefully get results out by the end of this week and that Michigan doesn't leave students hanging and sends out rejection letters in addition to acceptance/waitlist. not sure if this comforts anyone but it did provide me with some much needed relief.

do y'all have back up plans in place for if you don't get into any programs?? i've applied to five phd programs and one masters and so far i haven't gotten any acceptances and honestly i don't know what comes next if it isn't graduate school.....

wao !!!! congratulations! michigan is my #1 choice so i'm wildly jealous but hoping that more acceptances (including mine ) will come in the impending days! has anyone else heard? i would figure there'd be more folks on this forum waiting on U Mich results

hi hello, been lurking for months and am now finally getting the courage to engage/post ! i noticed a lot of brown acceptances go out yesterday (congrats to all those reading who were accepted!!! so exciting!) i applied, and it's one of my top picks.. and i'm just wondering if i should be holding out hope if i still haven't heard? like, is there a possibility acceptance is going out in waves? or should i assume an implied rejection? my status on applyweb still just says "submitted" despite how many times i obsessively refresh....
