Damn dude right back at you! Sounds like you have a really strong profile. It also sounds like you were able to share your unique story in the PHS, which goes a long way. I'm also rooting for you--- I'm sure we'll be hearing from each other as decisions comes out. It's nice just to have someone to debrief with while we drown in our own anxieties!

I'm actually dying. How am I supposed to get any work done? Does it matter? The anxiety is real. The website does say to check back with them in mid-March if we haven't heard anything (or at least it did before the website update, I haven't checked since). Admissions is gonna be getting a lot of curious emails on the 15th if they don't let us know by then.
EDIT: Just checked the website. They've changed their language to "Admissions decisions are typically sent in the month of March." Definitely giving them the side-eye.
SECOND EDIT: I lied. "Please check your Spam/Junk/Events folders if you do not receive your decision by mid-March."

Honestly I have been watching Sex and the City straight up during work hours because nothing else does the trick. 

Lol. Exactly the same, tbh. The area I want to focus on is very specific (data collection in the carceral system and its policy implications), and one of the only academics who's produced any work on it is an adjunct at Goldman. I actually didn't apply to any other programs because I couldn't find professors that would have been a good fit. I'm just above average academically for the program, so I waffle between being super confident and totally hopeless. What are you hoping to study?

It's my dream school, too. It's weird, I remember visiting the campus when I was in high school and thinking "this is the place." I didn't even apply for undergrad. But it turns out I really want to work with one of the adjuncts at Goldman. So here we are.
Why's it your dream school?

Adjuncts have no power. The only people that matter are those who are in the admissions committee - which is usually select staff, tracked professors, and the professor who is rotated in with an admissions responsibility. 

Now, it is hypothetically possible for an influential professor vouch for you to the admissions committee if he/she thinks you have potential for his/her research purposes. I have seen that happen. However, that can't be done last minute. Usually times come from a pre-existing research relationships (for example professional or from undergrad). 

Has anyone heard about rejections or wait lists at Chicago? It's the only school I haven't heard from yet, and I'm starting to feel like they forgot about me. 

I've felt that a few times and shot the DGS an email or called them, and they're usually happy to tell me the status (or to just say they haven't made any decisions yet, which I know is a lie...). However, on the results board NO denials for U of Chicago have gone out, so you may just need to wait it out.
