  1. Is there a Facebook group for UVic? (couldn't find one myself). And if there isn't one, should I make one for the 2018 cohort?
  2. I got a rejection from UT this morning too lol. I'll be going to UVic, for those of you who are as well hit me up
  3. HI, this is the message I received last year on May 9th. Dear Applicant: On behalf of the Admissions Committee in the Division of Social and Behavioural Sciences, I am writing this message to inform you that you have been placed on our offer of admission waiting listinto the Dalla Lana School of Public Health Master of Public Health Program, specialization in Health Promotion. Within the coming weeks, you will receive an official e-mail notification of our final decision from the University of Toronto. Regardless of the outcome we are confident that you have a great deal to contribute to the realm of public health. Thank you for your patience. Please do hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions.
  4. Damn maybe... Either way some news would be appreciated haha. I recall two people on the forum getting offers May 1. Did you email her before this?
  5. Me neither with health promo. Has anyone contacted UT?
  6. Yea lol. Should have been clearer, my bad. I turned down the offer so it should open up a spot for someone else. Today was the deadline to respond, so a new wave of emails should go out soon.
  7. Just turned down Saskatchewan, so hopefully someone hears from them soon.
  8. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this out, and you've made some really good points that I should consider. I really appreciate it What were the issues /complaints with the MPH program at Sask in the past?
  9. Hey thank you! I appreciate your feedback and that definitely makes sense.
  10. Did anyone get any news from UT today? Odd that they sent out acceptances on a Sunday
  11. Hi all, long time lurker (since Jan 2017) and recent poster. I applied to a total of 6 schools and have heard back with acceptances to 2 and rejections to 2. I've made a pros and cons list for each of the schools I was accepted to (UVic and USask) and there are a ton of similarities and overlaps that I'm having a tough time picking one over the other. I was wondering if there was anyone who would be able to give me their two cents on either of these schools - either if you went there yourself, know someone that did, or have heard anything about the Public Health programs at either of these schools. I applied for the online option for each school, and am hoping to pursue a thesis option as well. The timeline for each, the cost, etc seem similar ish so I'm really lost. I live in Victoria, and did my undergrad at UVic, so that might be a benefit. I was also specifically wondering if the ranking of these schools (for Public Health) differed? Obviously they are not UT or Western, but between UVic and USask, do you guys know or think one Public Health program is more reputable than the other or has a better ranking under the Canadian Public Health Association? Any and all feedback is welcome and appreciated, thank you in advance if you can offer any help This thread has been really helpul and encouraging for me both times I applied, so I wish everyone all the best as they're prepping for this next phase!
  12. hey congrats so much! Did you receive the email on a sunday? haha
  13. Just got an acceptance to Usask via email. I applied end of December. Does anyone have any thoughts on UVic vs USask?
  14. Does anyone have any insights or knowledge into UVic's MPH in social policy? Haven't found much info on them.
  15. They did last year. I got an email about UT health promo waitlist on May 1 (or 9th),2017.
