    Is there anyone else admitted to Saarland University for the upcoming summer semester? I have been admitted to the graduate school of computer science. I am considering starting a whatsapp group so we could network and plan together to do stuffs like secure accommodation and plan life in saarbrucken. Leave a comment or message if interested.

    Where were you rejected from previously? Depending on where rejected you, you can essay a guess on your chances at McGill.

    Thanks for the info, very enlightening. This post both takes away my hope and gives me hope same time. Takes away my hope because people have already been admitted, but gives me hope to hear some will be declining and there's still a chance. Your friends must have had extremely good profiles to be admitted to UofT. I don't even know what to do.. Whether to keep on contacting professors or this will have negative impact. Yeah it's already pretty late.. When did your friends get admitted?

    Oh really? From trends on the submission page only about 2 people (PhD) had gotten offers, and someone on this page mentioned that they said they'll roll out offers this month's end. The other admission offers were mainly for the professional Big Data program. Were your friends admitted to the Big Data or research program? And I'm guessing you're going in for research since you are contacting professors. Did you get any reply? I also tried contacting some profs recently but haven't gotten a reply. Seems SFU professors don't like being contacted. One explicitly stated on his page that he won't reply such messages as its a committee that handles the admission process.

    Hope so. Need to know my fate. Apparently I've been kicked off by Waterloo(ECE), down to SFU ?

    Sucks.... Now what's left? Guess it's SFU and McGill. I'm also waiting on SFU and Waterloo (ECE), tried initiating contact with faculty but seems for SFU they'd rather you don't contact them.

    I'm a proponent of contacting potential supervisors. Most people don't realize how low the chances are without this. On another note, any one got any info on SFU or Waterloo(ECE)?

    Oh that's totally right. But I wasn't addressing chances of admission. The OP asked about possibilities with that particular professor. So I'm just pointing out that if a professor decides to accept you, they make it very clear and not keep you guessing. So if you're in contact with a professor and you're not sure if he has decided to accept you, it's cos he hasn't decided so. If he has you'll definitely know.

    I know I'm somewhat gonna start getting branded devils advocate here, but this is almost certainly a reject. If a professor has decided to accept you, you won't need to ask here, you'll know for sure. They're busy people so avoid ambiguity when they wanna admit a candidate. If you feel uncertain, it's cos they haven't decided to accept you. Everyone who I know that got backed by a professor, the professor in question was very direct. #LetsBeReal

    Don't sweat it bro/sis... It's just minor misunderstanding. #mybad Got rejected as a good morning message yesterday. First thing I saw when I woke up, but funny enough I didn't feel bad about it. I guess I was tired of the wait and just wanted a feedback, any feedback, already! My only quarrel was that they didn't even care to send a mail. After paying over CAD$100 we at least deserve that.

    Then your previous calm down Satan remark was uncalled for. Anyway we're sailing the same boat and should paddle accordingly. Regardless of the trends we all need to stay hopeful as you pointed out. Update: 1 reject from Waterloo (CS). Still hopeful for SFU (CS) and Waterloo (ECE)

    Good points. Helpful to me also. But once again you're on about something different from the issue I was addressing and your points don't refute my statements. I never said there's (generally) no hope. I said chances are slim for those who havn't been in contact with potential supervisors unless you have a charming application profile. Now whether or not applicants are still being admitted or the number of people who will be admitted wasn't the subject of, and has no relevance to my post. PS. asked if you are a Nairalander.
