I originally was rejected from Adelphi University, and recently got a call back that they are reviewing more applications to fill their cohort. Has this happened to anyone else? If so how long did it take to hear back from Adelphi. Thanks!

I have a friend that was rejected last week and the date was April 24th and said her portal changed to something different from the "congratulation you submitted your app". I also never received anything too so Im still hoping for some good news! Best of luck to you!

Question did your online portal change when you were rejected from St. John’s? My online application still has a congratulations on submitting you’re application and that it’s in review on the top.

Still waiting to hear back from St. Johns the wait is killing me and its already almost May ?. I haven't seen a lot of people who have committed or have been rejected either

Im in the same boat, and really relying on St John for admissions, its very annoying that they are still reviewing applications. They only sent out a few acceptances but no rejections. Last year I was rejected around April 10th, and asked them about my previous application and what I could work on, and yes asked about spring admissions but they said starting fall only admissions starting Fall 2018 (go figure...). I really just hope if they are making students wait for this long some good news will come our way! Good Luck! If I hear anything else I will def respond back.

It is very annoying, I know they are still reviewing applications, but I think they are still seeing if people have committed to other schools or still interested so I guess, if you have committed to another school and are not interested in the program you should email them saying that at least.

Im in the same boat with you, I am a second year applicant and waitlisted to some schools and waiting to hear back from 3 other schools and hoping for some good news soon! A waitlist isn't an end all so don't think of it like that! Its a very competitive field ESPECIALLY in NY, so don't give up hope if this is what you want to do! If you don't get accepted don't feel bad about yourself because their are many people in the same boat as you especially now as Speech Pathology is becoming a very popular field. There are definitely a lot of options in NY, you can try working in a hospital, Special Education, ABA therapist etc Teacher Assistants etc. Don't give up hope, I hope you get some goo news soon good luck!

I'm a re-applicant and applied to St Johns last year, I know they had like an unofficial waitlist, and waited until the program was filled up with students. But I know this is the first year they are doing a Fall only admittance and so spring admissions, so I know they said they were going to accept more students to the cohort. But I think it might be different this year because not a lot of people have heard back or have put up that they have been accepted, and some people that have been accepted chose different programs already so I'm hoping for some good news soon! I applied to Yeshiva, I went to an online webinar which explained about the program. It is a newer program and a medically- based slp program and they have more medical classes compared to other schools. They do interviews for admissions.The cohorts are also small I think they accept like 20-30 students or less. Thats basically the jist I got from the webinar.

Has anyone committed to St Johns, or Hofstra I have only seen a few acceptances from both or emailed the admissions directors if they haven't heard back yet? I'm curious because both programs dont seem to have a huge amount of acceptances yet. For those that applied to St Johns I know they do an unofficial waitlist, and that accept students based upon space in the program, but I know a lot of people haven't heard back yet so hopefully soon!

Anyone that applied to St Johns, have you gone to any of their Open Houses, I'm looking to gain a little bit more information on the program itself thanks!

Im still waiting to hear back from St. Johns, Yeshiva, LIU Post, Columbia Teachers College and Hofstra.

Pros: She said the program was tight nit, and she felt that she was close to her cohort, St Johns has less credits compared to other schools which made tuition cheaper, although they did add credits for this fall 2018 semester starting cohort to 54 credits so that might be different now. She felt prepared for her CFY year and clinics, and Praxis, also St Johns has study abroad opportunities. Classes are at night so you could work in the day at least for your first year second year you have externships during the day. I think St Johns also is one of the only schools that has their clinic open on Saturdays. Cons: The Clinic is not on campus but near by which she said she had to drive to, she said the clinical coordinator was bad/disorganized but wasn't sure if they were going to change her for this year. Only real negative she had to say was that if you were placed at a bad externship or finding an externship on your own but she had great externships which made her feel really prepared. I think thats all she really gave me information on, you can send me more specific questions if you have any and I will ask her!

I have a friend that graduated from there if you need any information! I can try and answers as best as I can with the advice and info she gave me about their program.

Just curious but anyone that got accepted to St Johns what time of the day did you receive your email of acceptance? Also has anyone talked to the admissions office to see how many students they are accepting?

Hi, I wanted to know if anyone has ever reapplied to schools and did a reapplication form? For one of the schools I'm reapplying to they sent me a reapplication form which pulls up all your application materials from the previous cycle. I did send the school updated GRE scores and course I retook letters of rec and a new essay, but I wanted to know if the reapplication form is necessarily a good thing, and if anyone has gotten accepted after doing a reapplication form. Any information helps Thanks!
