  1. If possible, professional experience as a direct support professional or teacher's assistant will help! Also, make sure your personal statements include research on the school (professors research, special tracks, history of the program, alumni etc.) I think it will be open again in late summer...join ASHA's STEP Mentoring program!
  2. Hi! I worked as a direct-support professional (DSP) at a group home for autistic teens. For two years, I've been working as a teacher's assistant at a special needs high-school.
