  1. Hopefully this week! I honestly don't remember because I kept switching between two: international social welfare and current social problems.
  2. That's great though! You already have three great schools to choose from! I was set on New York so I only applied to NYC schools. My original plan was to apply to Columbia, NYU, Fordham, and Hunter. But in the end, I only submitted applications to Columbia and NYU. Those were my top two choices and once I received that NYU acceptance early on with a good scholarship, I decided I didn't need to pay the extra money and take the extra time to apply to Fordham or Hunter. I'm still hopeful about going to Columbia but if I don't make it in, NYU is still a good plan b!
  3. All sounds good to me! Have you heard anything back from either school?
  4. I identify with this a lot. I grew up in Phoenix suburbs and have been living in a small blue town in northern Arizona since 2012. I love NYC and see myself being there long term. I feel that it'll be a good environment to really learn and grow as a person and professional, plus there will be a lot of great connections made along the way. Which school did you apply to aside from Columbia?
  5. I believe SEA and policy (my concentration) are the two least enrolled tracks at Columbia, which sheds a little light on why we are still waiting if it's based on program. I wouldn't be surprised if we are some of the last to know.
  6. Interesting. Do you know why she wishes that? Those Columbia and NYU were the only two schools I applied to.
  7. But at this rate ya might not here until October!
  8. It's not bad! I feel like it's a little too early to do much other than research housing and get my money in order. Thankfully I have some friends out there already who are really supportive and helpful so I'm not too stressed quite yet!
  9. Every time I think I'm starting to understand how they do things, I realize I have no idea! haha. Are you advanced standing?
  10. I also submitted my application on November 27th and haven’t heard. I think most if not all of us who submitted Nov 27th - Dec 1st haven’t heard!
  11. I’m moving to New York also! Whether I go to NYU or Columbia, who. Plus know! But I’m definitely headed out there and I can’t wait! I’ll join also when I throw down my deposit.
  12. I just received the "application complete" email! After three months lol. Means something is coming soon!
  13. Many of us who applied in November still haven't heard. I wouldn't worry that you haven't heard yet, but unfortunately it might mean you have a while until you know :/
  14. Just a little insight that I thought I'd share. I have a friend who is at Columbia right now. She said that two of the four or five faculty that review applications quit (I don't know when), and that is why it is taking longer than usual to review the applications. They are short handed.
  15. Yeah. I saw some guy on Twitter who got accepted to the advanced standing program 10 days ago.
  16. I hope financial aid information still comes in March. I’ve gotten NYU to extend all the way till April 2nd from December 7th. I don’t want to have to ask for another extension.
  17. They haven't even gotten through all the priority applications yet. People got accepted through March and April last year. We just need to be patient and let the process play out
  18. Woo! Congrats! Stats?
  19. To this point I've never received that email from Columbia! NYU uses the same application portal and I when I applied there I was accepted a couple days after getting that completion email.
  20. I emailed this morning and they said "in the next few weeks". I'm just assuming that means by March 1st. I think I'll stop inquiring and just wait it out till then. I'll reach back out to them on the 1st if I haven't heard anything!
  21. I submitted on 11/27 and I never received an application complete email. I called the office last week though and they said everything was there and not to worry about it.
  22. Really? Where did you see that? I’ve only seen two year online students confirm acceptance on this forum.
  23. In years past it seems that online and two year in person applicants receive their decisions first. Advanced Standing candidates are usually last to year in the priority bunch.
  24. I wonder if your early acceptance is a good sign about your scholarship! Congrats!
