  1. Hi all, I got waitlisted by USC and Minnesota-DPCS track earlier last month and was wondering if anyone got off waitlist yet. I am tired of waiting and thinking about accepting an offer from a similarly good program rather than postpone until 4/15. Any input would be more than appreciated.
  2. USC: interviews on 1/26, initial offers are out Tufts: Psychology interview on 2/25-2/26, Pi has received approval from the department to extend invites already Washington University in St Louis: Interview invites were all out Emory: Interview was held already Best
  3. Hi, can anyone who received an offer from Oregon plz pm me you PI's initials? Would really appreciate it. I haven't heared anything since interview.
  4. Hello all, may I ask how you would answer to sensitive questions such as "Will you come if I extend you an offer?/ How much interest do you have in coming to our program?" ? I was asked for two times at this application cycle, and I think my answers were not good. I basically said something like "I am not sure at this time, but your program is high on my list" or "I find it difficult to decide at this point." What would you say if you are in my position (granted that the program is not your top choice but you do not hear from your top choice yet)? I would really really appreciate any input!
  5. I applied to GSU. I heard that interviewees would hear something this week (Jan. 8 -Jan. 12).
  6. School: Purdue University Type: PhD Date of invite: 1/3/2017 Type of invite: Email from POI Interview date(s): skype first
  7. May I ask if the persons who receive interview invitations from Penn State University (PSU) are willing to PM me your PI's initials and/or the dates of the interviews? Many thanks
  8. Can the person phone interviewed with PI from University of Southern California (USC) PM me your PI's initials? I will be really grateful for that!
  9. Hey, if anyone who receives interview (with either PI or graduate students) from PSU clinical psychology-adult track don't mind PM-ing your PI's initials, I would be more than grateful.
  10. Hi I appreciate your concerns. It seems that this forumn is becoming less about results but more about information exchange. As a rough estimate: less than 20% here are reporting results. Probably due to the fact that there is already a result page (https://www.thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php). I know this forumn is probably not developed to request POI information, but if you start a new forumn people may use both the new forumn and this one, which may make it difficult to check info (we will have to look at two forumns!). Just some personal thoughts.
  11. My guess is that people post on the result page: https://www.thegradcafe.com/survey/ and exchange for details via private messages here. Some people would post in this forumn as well, but not all of them do.
  12. If the person who received Oregon clinical interview could message me your POI's initials, I would be more than grateful. If not comfortable sharing, is this a mass email, or a individual email from POI?
  13. I saw a post on Ohio State Cognitive Psy program- did anyone hear from their clinical program? It is my top choice! I will really appreciate if anyone who got an interview could let me know.
  14. To the Michigan clinical science posts: if you wouldn't mind messaging me your PI's initial, I would really appreciate it!!
  15. Hi, on the same boat with you. Some of the programs are starting to extend interviews but to none of them I applied. Waiting now .. I am also binge watching TV series for a few days. Anyway, hope the applicaiton season goes by soon
  16. I emailed my potential PI about my interests, previous experiences and why I am interested in the lab. My prospective POI replied me that "Thank you so much for your interest in my lab. Your interests sound like a wonderful fit and I am planning to accept a new student. I look forward to seeing your application." Did not know how to continue the conversation except for saying "thank you". ... Any advice? Thank you in advance!!!!
  17. Thank you so much for the practical advice, which sounds very reasonable and workable. Will do!
  18. I have two questions that I hope to discuss with folks here! 1) How many projects are you applying? I am applying to 13 clinical and 7 counseling. 2) I am not sure if my lack in face-to-face counseling experiences would limit my chances. I only have several years of hotline crisis operator experiences as well as experiences working as group therapy assistants. But the bright side is that I have high GRE (330+, 5) and GPA (3.9+ undergrad), and two under-reviewed pubs (might not be able to gain publication prior deadline). Lack of master education and clinical experiences make me a bit worried that counseling programs might not even consider my applications seriously. Does anyone have any suggestions as regards to my situations? Thank you and my sincere wishes to everyone!
