Good morning and happy Saturday everyone, I checked my SJSU portal today and I was accepted to SJSU 2yr MSW program. No email, portal status: “accepted - classified graduate”. I will be not be accepting admission, headed to UC Berkeley in the Fall. I hope this helps Applied : UCB 12/1, CSUEB 12/15, SJSU 12/15 Accepted: CSUEB 2/21, UCB 3/6, SJSU 4/13 Admitted: UCB MSW Fall 2018

I am so glad it helped!! I was accepted to CSUEB and CAL! I am headed to CAL in fall! Good luck to everyone out there, don't lose hope. -

Your reasons for not applying for the stipend make complete sense. For me, it’s a win win. I work for my local County so I am hoping to intern there, the 2 year payback as a child welfare worker would count towards my LCSW. My degree would be an MSW not MSW in Children and Family, meaning I can take it where ever I decide later on and don’t have to stick to children and families. I was accepted to UC Berkeley on 3/6/2017 for their Strenthening Children, Youth and Families and title IV-E, this is my top choice so I am no longer in the waiting game. I will continue checking in if I hear anything from SJSU! Good luck everyone!!

Thanks @lost686girl you’re so sweet! I was so excited and had to leave my work space when I got the email. Needless to say I was in the stairwell crying! I don’t think you should count yourself out just yet, they accept 90 people and I doubt they sent out all notices today.

Hi MSWBound I was accepted here are some stats: BA in sociology from CSUEB c/o 2015 2yr working with adults with developmental disabilities 3 yrs working with local Social Services Agency as an eligibility worker and now as an employment counselor bilingual fluent in Spanish cum GPA 3.4 i applied for title IV-e

Hi yes I was also accepted!! I got into the “Strengthening Children, Youth and Families” formally Direct Practice in Children and Family Services. I was also accepted into Title IV-e!

Hi everyone I was accepted into UCB strengthening children and family services as well as title IV-E!! For the sake of adding more information as it can always be helpful, I received an email to my personal email at 1:26 PM which stated there was an update in my graduate application and to log in to find out when I opened it and email along With confetti congratulated me. And hour later I received a letter with funding explaining my acceptance into the title I VE program.

Congratulations ??!! I am sure you are over the moon! Would you mind sharing what concentration you were accepted for? Title IV-E? On a MSW UC/CSU FB page 2 people recieved notices of being waitlisted for UCB’s MSW program, (1 was title IV-e the other was not) today 3/6/2018 it appeared around 11:20am. Please post if you hear anything.

I agree, from what I’ve gathered they start sending notices out in April. I see SJSU is the only school you applied to, I believe they have the largest MSW class around so that is promising! I’m waiting to hear back from UCB as well as SJSU, I’ve already submitted my SIR to CSUEB as that is my 2nd option and I want to lock it in for safety.

Hi applied to the title IV- stipend. I also received the FAFSA email, I got excited thinking it was an answer or something!

Wishing you all the best as well, if we don’t try we will never know. I called UCB grad admissions today and they said they would let us know as soon as possible at the latest March 15 which doesn’t really sound very helpful at all.

Yes it feels like it’s been forever but it’s also been a huge blur LOL. What concentration did you apply for? I’m sure you’ve answered this plenty of times before on here ?

I cant help but be optimistic lol! I am applied for the Children and families concentration as well as Title IV-e, which required interviews. We were informed at the interview that they wanted to let us know earlier this eyear which is why they completed interviews earlier. I know it’s a long shot! I’m just thankful to have made it to March!

Is anyone else hopeful that today being 3/1 we might hear something? Call it optimism or naïveté.

I am not sure, but I would imagine they would have all decisions made soon! The anxiety of waiting alone is overwhelming, I check my email, this post, FB groups all the time.

According to the admission page every new student is considered for any open fellowships/scholarships. 2nd year you’d have to apply I believe. If i am accepted I am a banking on title IV-e, savings and a small loan. Ideally if I was offered a scholarship additional to title IV-e i wouldn’t need a loan. However, I was told title IV-e is one of the larger “scholarships/stipends” so I might not be eligible for any other if offered title IV-e.

Hi everyone! I am also waiting for UCB MSW program, I interviewed 1/31 for title IV-e stipend. You only interviewed if you applied for title IV-e. They told my friends who also interviewed that we could find out as early as two weeks which would have been last week and nothing so far. i was told they would know earlier this year and they completed interviews earlier, I hope we hear in the next two weeks! Ive been accepted into CSUEB and will accept while I continue waiting.
